What Is Your Favourite Type Of Boxer

IMO,when i choose a boxer i like,i wont classify him as a speedster,brawler,defensive or any other type.Id rather chose a boxer in his totality,in his style of boxing.And another thing that i would consider is the total performance.In his performance i would take a look at his discipline,his heart,and credibility.

I dont care if he losses some fights for as long as he fits my perceived criteria,i will make him my man in boxing.

To this effect,i can say Bernard Hopkins,Klitchko,Miguel Cotto,Jorge Arce are my kind of boxers.

Totally agree. I just realized that Barrera, Lacy or Wright fit into none of the categories I listed yet they are my favorites.

I like fighters with a combination of speed and defensive styles of boxing. I guess that's reflected as some of my favorite fighters are defensive ones like Pepp, Whitaker, Hopkins and Toney as well as speed fighters like Ray Leonard, Shane Mosley and Floyd Mayweather.

I have to say though, that certain fighters can make certain styles really work for them. Like Gatti and Hatton have a pressing, brawling style that they make work really well for them in exciting fashion.

Another way to look at it is there are many many fighters out there like Marco Antonio Barrera, Erik Morales and Juan Manuel Marquez who are combinations of all three styles you mentioned. Ithink fighters who fall into this category have a distinct advantage over more one dimensional types.
