I like fighters with a combination of speed and defensive styles of boxing. I guess that's reflected as some of my favorite fighters are defensive ones like Pepp, Whitaker, Hopkins and Toney as well as speed fighters like Ray Leonard, Shane Mosley and Floyd Mayweather.
I have to say though, that certain fighters can make certain styles really work for them. Like Gatti and Hatton have a pressing, brawling style that they make work really well for them in exciting fashion.
Another way to look at it is there are many many fighters out there like Marco Antonio Barrera, Erik Morales and Juan Manuel Marquez who are combinations of all three styles you mentioned. Ithink fighters who fall into this category have a distinct advantage over more one dimensional types.
I like the ones that lead with their chin, while their hands at the waist![]()
