Please enlighten us on exactly what Vitaly has done to be considered an all time great......

    Fought and aging Lennox Lewis??

No wait he beat on Danny Williams...something that seems to be a trend in HW boxing unless your name is Tyson...

No hold on he beat Corrie Sanders and was beating Chris Byrd until the injury right....

Please jump in at any time here...

Yeah they have better diets and blah blah blah but when people fought in the old days it was for survival they couldn't go back to their huge mansion with all their electronic bs they spent their money on food for their familes and wondered when their next paycheck was. The mental edge old school fighters had from rough upbringings equals or even surpasses the physical edge modern athletes have.

Vitali doesn't even belong in the top 30 all time. I don't care if he comes back and wins 50 fights in a row against the best in this division, He QUIT against chris byrd with three rounds to go and virtually no way of losing except a forifeit.

The other entrys are respectable but i dont like the order. Marciano was the best because you'd have to fight him for 15 rounds and odds are he'd catch you with a right and the fight would be over. Ali comes second because his great chin and mobility would possibly guide him to a victory over marciano and every other fighter prime for prime. Tyson comes third because on his best night he beats or gives other all time greats a run for their money.

I don't see vitali sticking in a fight with a minor injury when he has marciano or tyson across the ring from him. Ali would have him busted upon in alittle over 3 rounds. The number 4 spot all-time and down the line can be debated over and over but it doesn't matter. After the winner, runner up, and honorable mention, everyone else is just a conversation starter.
Vitali has a record that your heroes never could match (W 35 (34 ko's) L 2 Total 37)hell he got that record knocking boxers out who knocked your heroes out.Don't go bringing up dead boxers and other boxers that you have heard of, they may have been champs of their era but that was then this is now.
As for the fight with byrd read.

"The doctor did not need x-rays to convince him there was a serious problem. He knew he was hurting and in extreme pain. So Vitali Klitschko, a proud, educated man with a doctorate in sports science and philosophy, did what he felt was a most intelligent thing. He quit on his stool in a World Boxing Organization title defense against Chris Byrd on April 1, 2000, in Berlin, Germany."

You know this article was written by a clown. He forgot to mention that on weekends vitali flys around saving old ladies from evil doers and parting rivers just for the hell of it because he's vitali klitschko.

    on a serious note:

He did the smart thing huh? He went to college (some people dont get that chance to) for all those years just so he could professionally get punched in the face but he did the smart thing right? Quitting in a match he had won three times over because he was hurt. Let me explain something to you. Ali had a broken jaw against norton and didnt quit. People don't watch boxing just so they can see their favorite boxer quit when he gets a boo boo. What that says is Vitali was a great champ while he had no physical obstacles in his way but once he actually got in pain he couldn't take it. Thats what that says about him.

Well I guess you're running around talking shit about Jameel McCline. I guess you could say he quit when he hurt his leg. When you can't go on you can't go on!
Fighting with a broken jaw happens more than you think but you're so fucking smart I guess I did'nt need to tell you.Take Tommy Morrison everyone said he had a glass jaw but he fought WITH A BROKEN JAW AND WON SO DON'T HAND ME THAT CHICKENSHIT COMPARISON. Like Jameel McCline's knee just cause YOU could'nt see it or feel it don't mean that they can go on. peace out mofo

im not talking shit on mccline because he hurt his knee against an opponent that was superior to him and the fight was only 3 rounds in. Mccline is overrated trash and that all he's ever been. Its not like mccline hurt his knee late in the fight and he knew he had the fight in the books against an opponent that couldn't hurt him. To my understanding mccline couldn't even stand up. you cant win a match on your back. I can't believe i just said valuev was superior to somebody.....

Vitali messed up his shoulder in round three and he obviously went on for 6 others. There have been other boxers who finished fights with a torn rotator cuff. Everyone trashes jeff lacy. atleast he had the balls to finish a fight injured unlike the uninvincible ukranian warrior that people worship for some unknown reason.

the subject was how terrible the list was and the majority of the conversation came from vitali getting the 10th spot.

top 10 heavyweights r nothing more than personal opinions

tyson as #1 is acceptable 2 me--he only lost 1 fight during his prime--much like joe louis--when tyson came back from jail--he was just a shadow of the tyson that ruled the hw division-if joe louis went "away" for 5 yrs also he wouldnt have been the same either. tyson at 1 time was fearless, ruthless and brutal and even a scientific fighter

    top 10
    james toney jk
    1 muhammad ali
    2 joe louis
    3 rocky marciano
    4 joe frazier
    5 george foreman
    6 larry holmes
    7 evander holyfield
    8 mike tyson-- b4 jail
    9 sam langford
    10 ezzard charles

a prime tyson ranks high reardless you dont believe me watch some tapes on him. Boxing has been around for over 100 years naturally there are gonna be more than 10 fighters that somebody could claim as "the best".

Joe Frazier is too high so is Holyfield and i don't know if Charles should be there but other than that pretty much agree with that.

Ali NEVER fought at a blistering pace....sure he had spurts where he flurried but that was just it....flurry, dance, flurry, clinch.....repeat

Foreman was a great fighter but could have been better technically

Vitali should be close to the top 30 heavyweights seeing how he has lost only 2 times and has KO'd all but one of the guys he has beaten. As a champion he leaves more to be desired but if he wins 50 title defenses he'd be one of the best heavyweights EVER if not THE BEST....that is highly unlikely but if he did it vs anyone it would be a great feat as 25 title defenses is the best so far and 50 would double that.
