I disagree. A win for Taylor would be massive. A win for Calzaghe would only bring critism for fighting a middleweight who has looked average to poor in his last 2 fights.

It's early stages of negotiations guys, at the moments no ones ducked anyone. Frank's done an offer of $4m which I'm sure is not the highest he's willing to go, while Taylor's said $10m which I'm sure is not the lowest he's willing to go, it's why they call it negotiating.

Taylor is training for a fight at the moment so Im sure the serious negotiating will start after Spinks is out of the way.

Hope this fight does take place, Im as big a fan of Joe as anyone here, but he really, really, really needs a big a fight next, no more waiting, he's not got long left.

Warren isnt keen on Calzaghe going to USA cause he can make alot of money by selling 35000+ tickets in Cardiff.i agree Calzaghe should go over to America i thought that was the point in fighting Manfredo to get more attention in America then go over there to fight.

No doubt your right, that Frank Warren has shown us he can generate big dollars putting up complete stinker events.. The real issue is, how much is Calzaghe making for these matchups?? Probably far from what Taylor has been making his last few fights... It just seems to me like Joe is content to hide behind Warrens shoulder and continue to be his cashcow, without likely getting big dollars himself.. Who cares what his promoter can rake in for some BS night of boxing, Joe should be seeking out the big fights himself. He should be chomping at the bit and demanding Warren get him a big fight.. It's all relative.. It doesn't matter where he grew up, what matters is what he can generate today.. If you were Jermain Taylor, I can almost guarentee you wouldn't go to Wales for 4 million. What's the point? You could fight a lesser challenge in the States for that much.. Or fight 2 blown up welterweights back to back and make more than that.. You say the world doesn't end if Taylor loses, but if he get's dominated, what then?? He basically loses a lot of stock, for what is an average payday for him.. He'll have a lot of trouble making even 4 million ever again if he went to Wales and got his ass whipped.. It's all business, doesn't seem like your thinking this through much.

Kessler was offerd the june fight first, claimed he was not ready then after a few weeks of stick rumors hit he was injured?

Frank warren is under deep preasure to provide in the june date, if he doesn't he loses his contract with ITV and is fucked basicaly. I don't know if Sky will take him back, or if they do i believe he will losse money. Setanta are said to be interested, but again for less money as well as it being a very little used package in the UK that few will pay for just for frank warrens boxing meaning his fighters also lose alot of exposure.
