The sport is full of them...Many men have made a decent living as a professional opponent....They are guys who have skills techenically but lack that extra edge so to speak....They don't actually throw fights they just are not world class....I wouldn't exactly call them losers in a life sense of the word either...It takes a lot of heart to go out there and do what they do...If not for guys like Reggie many of these so called top fighters would not have the records they do.....When you neeed to feed your family and there is nothing else but to fight you do what you have to do I suppose...I personally have to respect a man who will do anything to feed his family even if it means getting his ass kicked on national TV

Hey, the guy is making his money and by the sounds of things isn't taking too much punishment in his losses. I don't see how he is discrediting anything.

I'm going to side with the minority on this one. I wouldn't call a fighter a "disgrace to boxing" solely based on his record. Not everybody can have winning records. People forget that for everyone who's 15-0, there are 15 "L's" out there somewhere. SOMEBODY's got to lose those fights.Originally Posted by "PRIDE OF BOSTON"
But someone who climbs into the ring just for a paycheck.... and runs around clinching and just trying to survive, without the slightest intention of going for the "W"...... yes, that's a discredit to the sport IMO. And since I haven't seen any of Strickland's fights, I'm no one to judge the man...... but I've seen my share of fights that are pretty similar to the ones Pride of Boston has described.
