That would be a great fight for Gatti. Remember back when Gatti fought Mickey Ward. Mickey Ward had Gatti out on his feet in the 9th round. Ward throws alot of combonations. Gomez doesn't. The last Gomez had fight with Conception he only threw a quick 1 ,2 or a quick 1,1,2 or a cross and a hook. Gomez doesn't fight like Irish Mickey Ward. Probally the best combonation I have ever seen thrown came at the end of the 5th round when Mickey Ward threw a flurry. Gatti must be tough because he didn't go down. If Gomez wants to beat him the need to throw a more variety of punches and combos from all diffrent angles.

I think Gatti will lose this personally.
lets look at gomez's career defining fights. The best he has on his resume is a 1-1 record against manfredo and a trilogy with some bum that i cant even remember the name of.

Jesse Fliciano a "bum." Swell. Nice piece of research. Is Ishe Smith a "bum" too?

The one foght Gomez did nit throw a lot of combos in was with Conception. Maybe he felt he didn't have to, but I have seen him fight many times and he throws combos and a wicked left hook to the body.

I think Gomez would eat Hatton's lunch
only if Hatton offered him a sandwich. otherwise Gomez would be making Hatton's lunch.

Matthew, not Ricky. It would be slice and dice time for the poor lad.

".....Gomez doesn't fight like Irish Mickey Ward...." Not to many do. When Ward did that stuff in the 9th round, that was some time ago. Since then, Gatti has taken more punisshment than any human being should be allowed. I sense it will all catch up to him after 2 or 3 rounds as long as Gomez stays away from Gatti's left hook...which is a fast hook. Then it sayanora for Arturo. Time to go back to Montreal and enjoy himself and hope all the punishment doesn't manifest itself later.

I f Gatti must fight on, Gomez is a good opponent. He is known, tough, and not at Gattis level. Gatti has fough and been competitive with some of the best, even as of late and Gomez is a step down in competition but is just as popular as better fighters. Gatti wins a exciting decision.

I don't think so as much as I like Gatti. He gets stopped by a savage onslaught of combos topped off by a lethal hook to the liver that sends Arturo down and he just can't get up in time.

I think Gatti can outbox Gomez as long as he sticks to boxing. Gatti even had his moments in his last fight and Baldomir is a much better fighter than Gomez. Gatti may be fighting on too long and i do think hes borderline shot but he still has experience against good fighters and that will get him this win.

Im looking to see Gatti go out here like he came in...losing and down on points but then coming back to KO Gomez in the late rounds to prove he is still the blood and guts warrior with all the heart in the world...only now he has to do it against lesser caliber opponents than those of yesteryear. Gatti by KO in ten.

    "B list" ?
Alfonso came out of nowhere to star in a reality tv show that so far has produced no real "contenders." Showed good skills but would be nowhere near this cash-in position if he weren't in the right place at the right time. Like a Baldomir light. Fun to watch but doesn't have the skills to ever be in the top ten.

well after an awesome play by play like that ...I really don't need to watch the fight...
It feels good to be back home.
