I agree Williams is lower reward, but do you really think he's higher risk than Cotto? Williams is too green and has terrible defense. I favor Margarito in that fight. But I think Cotto will crush Margarito in a fight that's not close.

You can't really mean that, can you? Margarito doesn't win a single round against Mosley.

IF YOU REALLY believe Tony does not win a round against Mosley, you are dreaming. Mosley would get backed up and he can't fight going backwards, would get outworked and has trouble with taller and bigger fighters. He would have his moments but Margarito could take his punch.

Williams is higher risk as in there are fans who won't respect Tony if he wins. Even if he lost to Cotto,if he fought well,he would get more love.

I think that just means he's lower reward. Not higher risk.

If Mosley-Margarito ever gets made, let's have a friendly wager on who wins.

Tony is rated highly by alot of people, because he's been avoided, and because he can knock the ear off of a fighter.

On the other hand, he has a few losses, and others consider him not that good.

IMO, sure, he can bang, but will be exposed, and would never beat Mayweather. As for the rest, we'll see.

Tony would be an easy fight for Floyd, IMO. I would have rather saw Floyd-Oscar, and Tony-Cotto.

Those in the know have been touting him for ges.The guys at Maxboxing,James Toney,Ray Mancini,Gill Clancy all speak highly of him. And he has been looking for a big fight for longer than most know. He was calling out Mayora,Vargas and Oscar at 147/154. He couldnt find anyone to fight so he fought Antonio Diaz at the time,I remember Lampley mentioning it. He has beaten some hard nosed under rated fighters and now seeks the bigger names, thats all. No offence but just because you didn't hear of him does not make him any less potent or dangerous. NO ONE said he was a great fighter but he IS a stylistic nightmare for most if not all at 147. I'm not saying he would DEFINITELY win them all but he would be dam tough to beat.

Margarito would have given FLoyd a tough tough fight but of course Floyd would be hot favourite.

I love Cotto more than most at this forum except may be Danny G and even I admit that if Cotto's stamina is not SIGNIFICANTLY better than it was at 140,Tony would ravage him later in the fight or in the rounds he has off. And as for Mosley Margarito, there is a reason why Shane told Floyd to fight Tony and didn't take it himself. I'd bet you TOTALLY!

I love you guys here, all of you but just because you don't like a fighter or don't know much about him, does not mean he is a 1 hit wonder or anything. I'm not saying he's the best, far from it,technically he's awful but he's dangerous, that;s my point.

Margarito is rated so highly because he's a devastating puncher, is from Tijuana, and has a terrific style, plus he's with Bob Arum. The fact he hasn't faught any really big names yet is because no one has got in with him, when Floyd could have accepted $8m to fight him, instead he faught Baldomir for $8000000.01, thats right, a cent more, just so he could say "I wanted to fight Margarito, but Baldomir was more money,".
Remember the good old days, we miss you Marco!

Remember, Floyd collects green straps too. Baldomir had it.
