Yall need to chill out. Floyd landed 80 more punches. I'll give Oscar respect for making it a rough fight. If you look past the shoeshining that Oscar did on the ropes, he got handled in that fight. Floyd stood tall against De La Hoya and landed some hard shots. It was a good fight. The one judge that had it 115-113 ODLH should be banned because there's no way it was that close. I can understand 7-5 Floyd or even 115-114 Floyd, but 115-113 De La Hoya? Wow. That's fucked up. Floyd landed the harder and more effective shots.

    the winner AND NEW!!!!
What were you watching? DLH was winning that fight up until round 10 and as usual he simply faded and lost the last 3 rounds. 115-113 PBF was about right, I think 116-112 for PBF was bullshit.
PBF deserves the win and they should fight again this year ! PBF is now in the box seat money wise.
If Oscar had got the decision it would have been controversial sure but wouldn't have bothered me at all. Floyd was backed up for most of the fight and 90% of those 80 more punches were blocked. His cleanest hits were in the final rounds. Oscar lost stamina!
No doubt about it though PBF just went into the top ten fighters of all time with that win.

Floyd won that fight convincingly. It was relatively even going into the second half of the fight. Those flurries were not fooling me. Floyd was no getting hit cleanly most of the time and was in control. As the later rounds came on Oscar was throwing less and less and Floyd began to impose control...

Floyd put on an excellent showing as far as im concerned. I was surprised that a judge could give it to Oscar and surprised the second judge had it so close. The third judge had it just about right...

It was a very enjoyable fight

PBF won for sure, you are kidding if you think it was convincing, he was behind after 9 rounds and DLH simply faded and lost stamina 115-113 was right 116-112 was a joke!

Oscar faded beyond the 7th IMO. This is where Floyd began to display more authority and Oscar "faded" somewhat. Its not so much that Oscar's stamina got to him. He was clearly getting frustrated towards the end and not so much because he was tired but because of Floyds difficult style.

The first half of the fight is even with perhaps the edge going to Oscar. Floyd was boxing smart and controlling large parts of those rounds. Oscars flurries may have looked good and excited the crowd, but that doesnt get away from what Floyd was doing for the rest of the time. Many of those flurry punches were being blocked by good defensive maneuvoring from Floyd.

Floyd winning by 4 points actually sounds reasonable to me, but I have only watched the fight once...

to me honstly neither man one by more than 2 rounds, oscar certainly blocked a good portion of mayweathers punches and you dont win fights by backing up nd not connecting a close fight

Mick I usually agree wit you, but Oscar got beat tonite, although Oscar got robbed in the second Mosley fight, I agree. But Oscar just faded after rd 9, he was just following Floyd around the ring not throwing any punches at all, it was really fustrating, and believe me, nobody wanted to see Oscar bust this loud mouth, thrash talking, arrogant ass-hole than me. But Oscar tired just like Floyd said he would, and for Oscar to stop using his jab was something I can't figure out. When OSCAR WORKED BEHIND HIS JAB HE BACKED FLOYD UP INTO THE ROPES AND WAS ABLE TO FLURRIE WITH HIS PUNCHES, THAT WOULD HAVE BEEN ALL NITE LONG....but he for some insane reason he stopped. And Freddie Roach was almost non-exsitend, why did'nt Freddie see this and bring it to Oscar attention. What happened to all them traps Roach was setting, Roach might have well just stayed in the dressing room. Oscar should try for a rematch in September but no later then that, the long lay offs between fights really hurt Oscar.

Oscar seemed tight. When he got Floyd on the ropes it looked like he was scolding his son instead of boxing.

Honestly it looked like Oscar stepped in a mound of piss ants and was trying to get them off of himself. It looked like flailing instead of punching.

yep i'm almost right in my prediction, PBF by UD turns out it's split decision only. Anyway, it's still a win for pretty boy. i'm really crediting oscar for making this fight a bit exciting almost pushing floyd to engage him a little bit as he made him think about the score cards for a while. I always thought oscar will fade away in the later rounds and cannot sustain the intensity all throughout the rounds. Though earlier he was, quite happy with the development of his stamina, even saying and feeling like he was 20year old again and that he realized how manny pacquiao is throwing bombs like there's no tomorrow through freddy roach training formula; believed that he would reinvigorate his former physical prowess. in fairness, oscar did came in fantastic shape and well conditioned. In the end, he could not sustain it, not enough endurance is still the key to why he lost this fight. otherwise the outcome would be the other way around and the least is a draw.

The revelation in this fight is still what we already know, "constant pressure is still the key to beating floyd" and in order for a boxer to do that he needs a tremendous and exceptional amount of stamina reserve. very few boxer have that and most of them have decent only. I believe most of us know who they are..

He should ask for a rematch too, his stamina at the end of his fights is a major concern for him though.
Mayweather only had to wait him out and that's what he did, Oscar was winning this fight and just faded away in the later rounds letting Floyd steal the win. He won it while Oscar lost, nobody to blame but himself for this one. Floyd didn't do anything out of the ordinary in the final rounds he just kept at the job at hand and Oscar simply wilted. 115-113 no problems with that. Oscar loves boxing and PBF should do the right thing and give him another go. $$$$$$ are there for sure.

It's gonna be worse in a rematch. When Mayweather looks back on the tape, he's gonna realize that he was landing some big shots and simply didn't finish ODLH off. I think that the win was good enough for both men to just move on. Oscar feels good because he was extremely competitive against the P4P #1 and Floyd won a fight against a future HOF in his first fight at 154. IMO, Floyd looked really good at the weight. He looked strong and his punches were crisp.

Mick, you're a great boxing fan and a big part of the reason I come to this site is to read your posts.

But there is NO way Oscar won this fight.

Mayweather won this fight fair and square.

amen to this post.. as far as i saw the fight mayweather didnt do anything to win this fight.. oscar was pressing and punching. i agree that a lot of odlh's punches didnt hit the target but he was active.. how would that fight look if both of them fought the way mayweather did? it would look like a a freaking balet.. so whoever said that floyd won convincingly should wipe mayweather's juice off their lips
