As I said when he was coming up from 135 who were the great fighters he could have fought?Originally Posted by Padilla
alright lets look at the time he had just moved up to 140 since you said "since lightweight"
Alright Shane had beat oscar for the second tiime and was giving Wright his shot. He lost twice and why would Floyd fight him after that? Then Mosley was off for a year came back at 147 and was still trying to come back into his own at 147 and admitted he wasnt ready for a big fight with anyone. And then he went back up to 154 and fought Vargas twice, tell me in what span of time could Floyd have fought him
Tszyu was recovering from injury and was already set to fight Sharmba Mitchell(but he injured himself) so he was recovering from that injury by the time Floyd came up from Lightweight and by that time was already signed to fight Mitchell againSo when could Floyd have fought him?
Wright was in the midst of his Shane Mosley two fight special and was just making a name for himself still as a premiere fighter in the sport. And it wasnt until he beat Trinidad in 2005 that he really really had gotten on the world stage. After that Soliman fight he had there were small talks of maybe him fighting Mayweather. Even though Wright admitted it was getting very difficult for him to make 154 anymore. And ultimately he chose to fight Jermain Taylor and since then has fought Ike Quartey and is now looking at fighting Bernard Hopkins.
I can do this all day so why don't you throw out a few more names its been a while since I've had the chane to do this to someone
Oh and here's another one
You knock Floyd for fighting a prime Castillo and Corrales... but you say his record is a joke and then you call Margarito a "decent guy"![]()

bro, it doesnt matter what my answer is.. i could give you another answer, you'll contest it.. let it be that you think oscar got schooled and i think floyd barely won.. thats that..Originally Posted by TheBESTP4P

I aint knocking him for fighting Chico, and Corrales. But he only fought two fighters of that calibre.
He could've fought Margarito instead of any of the bums he fought at 147.
I dont understand how you become the best in the world when your comp is so weak. You dont become an atg without challenging yourself.
i wont contest it, i was seriously wanting to hear your opinion thats all. cause again i think its really hard to make oscar look bad u know?Originally Posted by josef4334

It wasnt a schooling as in say Calzaghe: Lacy. Very far from it. But I do think it was a clear and convincing win in the end...
Like I say Im not really big on either fighter but did enjoy the fight. I thought Floyd made a close fight a good win with his surge from the 8th onwards...
yeah its hard to make oscar look bad, but given the factor that pbf has faster hands and lighter on his feet, still dela hoya looked good in that fight..gotta remember odlh is not that fast and floyd is probably the fastest hed ever faced. and he did good man.. so thats y i keep arguing with you when you say schooled.. the fighter i saw that floyd schooled maybe was gatti... now thats schoolingOriginally Posted by TheBESTP4P

what do you mean "regardless of what i think"? if you think de la hoya actually WON that fight, it's clear you have your head up his ass and can't see straight. take a stroll through the internet. you'll find that no respectable boxing writer had the fight any closer than 116-112 mayweather. i won't say de la hoya got "schooled," but i will say he got outclassed--as in, Floyd would beat Oscar 999 out of 1000. THEBESTP4P is right--Floyd made Oscar look worse than he's looked in a long time, maybe ever.Originally Posted by josef4334
