Honestly I have no idea why we are even talking about this.
    He WON'T be retiring.
For every story told that divides us, I believe there are a thousand untold that unite us.

Oscar and Roy got rich and got to dictate terms when they talked about retiring.

The people who have a problem with Floyd, like myself, have a problem with him because he puts himself with the likes of Ray Robinson. Now he wants to retire without fighting guys out there like Mosely, Wright, Hatton, Cotto, Margarito, Simms, etc. I'll give him he was great at Super Featherweight and Lightweight, but above that he hasn't fought the top competition that someone of his stature should be fighting.

Oscar is better than everyone you just named except Mosley and Wright. Wright's next fight is for the light heavyweight championship -- you can't expect Floyd to go there. So really, you've got Mosley. And I'm guessing you'd say "oh, but Mosley was old and past his prime" if Floyd were to take that fight and beat him anyway, right?

My point is if Floyd were to beat all those guys and clean out a division, then I would consider him one of the greatest. And Winky is not fighting for a Light Heavy championship, it's at Lightheavy with a catch weight of 170. Winky could prob get down to 154.

My biggest problem with Floyd is since Castillo, he's fought Sosa, N'dou, Corley, Bruseles, Gatti, Mitchell, Judah, Baldomir, and Oscar. I'm not saying Floyd isn't great, he is. But I would like to see him fight the top guys for him to be one of the greatest.

He is, in fact, fighting for the Light Heavyweight linear championship, against the champ, B-Hop. The only reason it's not for every one of those worthless alphabet straps on top of that is that Tarver and Johnson took fights other than their mandatories so the belts became dis-unified. But the line from Roy Jones goes to Hopkins. And it doesn't become a non-title fight because it's being fought at LESS than the upper limit. It would only DQ if they were fighting at ABOVE 175.

But hey, if Winky could get down to 154 still (which I agree maybe he could), that's the toughest fight out there for Floyd (though if he won, the haters would just say Winky was old anyway).

    Cheers mate.

Personally I think if Hatton beats Castillo and Oscar doesn't secure the fight Floyd will unretire for that one.

Forget what he says for a second!
Ali didn't literally make medicine sick. What of it?
Have you people never heard of the concept of trash talk before??
Sure Floyd's arrogant. How does that take away from what he does in the ring?
If he stated in interviews that he absolutely sucks, would that automaitcally make him better in your eyes somehow?
Forget what he says. Judge him for what he does in the ring.
It's funny how people who dislike Floyd hang on his every last word so much.
No, don't forget. Here's why I don't like him. PBF doesn't know what the hell he wants to be. He is a slick boxer so his trash talk should be like Ali's.... " I'm gonna float like a butterfly, sting like a bee"... Ali trash talked all before Foreman fight about how Foreman wasn't gonna be able to touch him. He bragged about his strengths. PBF brags about things that aren't his strengths " I'm gonna massacre him, etc.... For me if he stuck with his strengths and would just be himself, and trash talk about what he can and will really do, then he would get credit.... He's an idiot cause he doesn't want to be who he is, and it's obvious again by this crap. He wants to be the bad guy, but then he wants to be the good guy.... Floyd is childish and needs to grow up....

With the way Floyd spends money and gambles, he will be fighting for a long time.

As for me, I hope he becomes financially disciplined at the same level as he is physically disciplined. But alas, this boy seems to be on the wrong path.
