I need to clear something up. I am not a Margarito supporter. It's just funny that someone would turn down their biggest payday with this guy if it's such a sure win. I do think Paul Williams will beat him. Margarito did try to duck Williams. As for Cotto, I like his knock out ratio. But i'm reserving my decision about him until the Judah fight. It's about time he fought a big name in boxing. He's made mince meat out of b minus to b plus opposition. The only reason some people have Ricardo Torres ranked so high is because he put Cotto on his ass a couple of times. I'll be pulling for Cotto in that fight because I would love to see Cotto and Williams fight.

hmm i think it's fair enough to say pbf isn't the best as of now that's for sure and by far the truth. But i don't think we need to close the book already. If he intends to fight mosely, cotto, hatton and the rest of the nuances that's keeping him from being respected the way he wants it and then dominate them totally. I still think he could be the best in his era but not all time.

There was no guarantee that 8m dollars could come from a fight with Margarito. It was all suggested. The real money was a fight with Oscar and that is the route Floyd took. As simple as.

i agree somewhat that a mayweather vs. mosely fight would be another huge event, but hatton and cotto have yet to do anything to warrant being mentioned in the same sentence as mosely, mayweather, or even delahoya

Starr, I see that you don't start any topics, just rip on other peoples. Is this because you're incapable of coming up with any topics by yourself? I put my opinion out there because I believe in it and am willing to take any criticism and argument. People can name call all day but personal attacks are the refuge of a week argument. I stated my opinion and backed my facts up with evidence. If you can muster up enough brain power to think up your own topic on this site, then i'll stand corrected. Until then I'll consider this a victory for myself.

I'm not Mayweather fan but I respect his talent. I have no respect for Margarito because he hasn't beaten anyone worthwhile and yet people rate the guy as if he's the best fighter on earth. You say he's one of the two best welterweights? Cotto and Mosley could hand his ass to him on a plate.
Margarito is a slick south paw with a tight defense, quick like a cat on his feet in and out, side to side. OH WAIT, actually he just walks forward and throws hooks. It would take Mayweather less than a round to figure out a one-dimensional Margarito, and just pick him off all night.
PBF BIG UD 11 rounds to 1.
Since when is Tony Margarito a SouthPaw?
Tony will have his hands full with Paul Williams and if he survives that and Cotto survives Judah, then Tony and Cotto will meet. Floyd has at least a year to let these welters determine who deserves a shot at PBF if he comes back.
We can not dismiss Shane and there is a young rising start named Andre Berto that looks like a force to be reckon with. Floyd is now the king. He calls the shots. I never thought I would say this but that is the way it is.
Floyd has so many options it's rediculous.
Further more and in all honesty, I don't see anyone hanging with Floyd except Shane.

Danny. I completely agree with what you're saying. Floyd does call the shots right now. And as for the scenario in the welterweight division, I definitely see Williams coming away with a victory against Margarito. And I hope he does after Margarito tried to hide from him. I'm not to sure about the Cotto Judah fight. Cotto has shown strength aganis good to solid opposition. This will be his first fight against a true big name. Either way, I see Williams coming out of all of this undefeated. He will be the one that would deserve to fight pbf when all of this is sorted out. But I don't think it will happen. I'm almost certain that if this scenario plays out, Floyd will run as fast as he can from this fight. We'll see what happens.
