I would agree......I don't think he will beat Kessler but if he does I will hop on the Joe C bandwagon without protest...Do I think Joe C is a good fighter, Yes...a good champ? No....you have to unify for that....20 title defences and only 1 title?....that's bogus....but to add more titles now...that would put him up there bigtime!

2 titles man. He won Lacy's IBF title but was made to vacate coz the IBF are tossers.
why did he have to vacate?...pls explain...this has got to be good...was there a mandatory against Kessler or something?...
It feels good to be back home.

He had to fight the mandatory after the Bika fight. Instead he chose to fight the "world class" Peter Manfredo.

I don't agree with IBF's mandatories in many cases. The way they rate boxers is a shambles and out of the 4 paper titles, they're the one I have least respect for. (in other words, my comment was a pop at the IBF, rather than a defence of Joe)

Heres the official statement from Frank Warrens website

Promoter Frank Warren says Joe Calzaghe will go to Denmark and fight Mikkel Kessler.

Earlier this week, Warren agreed to an offer made by Kessler's promoter, Mogens Palle, but has so far heard nothing back from the Dane.

"It's not a done deal until it's signed but we've accepted," Warren told BBC Five Live. "It's now up to Palle to send a contract."

Long term WBO super-middleweight king Calzaghe has been linked to a fight with his WBC/WBA counterpart following victory over Peter Manfredo Jr in April.

Both fighters - neither of whom have tasted defeat before - were keen to secure home advantage, but Calzaghe is so confident of victory, he is prepared to sacrifice a partisan crowd.

"Joe doesn't mind fighting in Denmark," said Warren. "He feels he will beat Kessler anywhere and I believe that's the case as well.

"It's a great fight. It's the two best super middleweights in the world. It's probably one of the most competitive fights at the moment in boxing.

"I just hope that Palle backs up his offer. We sent him an e-mail on Tuesday along with a fax confirming what the terms were and we've not heard from him since.

"I'm hoping it's not all nonsense. He's been talking a lot about fighting Joe with Kessler and we've called his bluff. I don't believe he ever thought that Joe would go to Denmark."

I'm just glad that Joe has signed to fight a real fighter.
Kessler is the real deal and he has the home advantage so I'#d be inclined to start him as close favourite.
Joe is not getting any younger but he IS going to be getting a whole lot richer.
Good on him he has been great value for money and win or lose he deserves his payday.
I'd love to see Joe pull a big performance out of the bag but I'm really not sure, it's a tough one to call.

There's gotta be a fair few people on here with egg currently on their faces after the slatings they serve up towards Joe.
I'm wondering why it's taken 3/4 days for Palle to get back to Frank?
After all the b*llshit he's been spouting about Joe not wanting any part of Kessler you'd have thought that he'd have had this deal done and dusted by now,add to that the fact it will be in Denmark and it seems even stranger!

Don't get ahead of yourself man, not a damn thing has been signed yet. Just keep the fingers and toes crossed and don't count your chickens, otherwise we may be may see an Evans Ashira rematch as Joe's 'super' fight.

One thing is sure Mogens Palle is the Danish answer to Frank Warren, I would not get surprised if he gave give Frank Warren a new and lower offer now, because Warren did the same to him.

I am a Kessler fan not a Promoter fan, but hey if you guys come to Denmark we should have a beer before Calzaghe gets his stuffing of Danish bacon.

    Lets cross the fingers.
