We all know one thing . That is that Hagler had probablly the best chin in the middleweight division for his time. Maybee of all time. I dont know but it would probally go to the cards. RJJ was to quik and Hagler was too tough.

This fight is a good fight. I would go with Hagler on late knockout. but Jones was fast. But it matters which Hagler. The Hagler of 1985 would have been the tough one for Jones. Jones beats most middleweights but Hagler's southpaw would have been a little different for Roy. Good fight though. Hagler would make Jones fight.

Probably the best post I've ever seen you make X, fantastic stuff CC. I would take Hagler by a KO. I saw Hopkins' persistance give Roy problems, there has never been a better come forward fighter in history then Marvin Hagler imo. This is a fantastic matchup at 160.

Hold on just a second there your comparing Hopkins fight to how Hagler fight would go ?? Jones dominated Hopkins like 9 rounds to 3 so i don't see how thats giving Jones problems plus Hopkins wasn't fighting the same type of fight Hagler would as for Hagler he lost to natural Welterweight Leonard yes some may argue with decision or that it wasn't quite a prime Hagler but it wasn't far off and he still lost so in a 12 round bout i think Jones has the tools to beat Hagler.Originally Posted by amat

I would go as far as saying Jones never met anyone as good as Hagler though and would Jones keep him off thats the question he had great stamina and just kept coming after you
he had great stimina and kept coming forword. yes but he never ever met any one with roy jones knock out power.
yes hurns could hit. but not like jones.
jones never realy planted his feet for power. and the power was still there. he did it agaisnt ruiz and it showed.

Hearns was past it plus he never really hit Hill clean Mugabi and Hearns hit harder than Jones.Originally Posted by artest2000
i think hearns did hit harder but u jus dont see jones punches coming and thats the difrence
Roy destroys Hagler. He was faster than Leonard at middleweight, and Hagler could only deal with Leonard because he couldn't punch at the weight, but Roy is stronger, faster, and hits harder than anyone Hagler has ever faced.
Also it wasn't even close to a prime Leonard who faced Hagler, and he had been out of the sport for like 3 years before the fight. Against Bernard Roy had a broken right hand which forced him fight differently, and he wasn't in his prime yet.Originally Posted by ICE COLD BOXING
