Your living in a dream world sunshine 1 just 1 good punch off Tyson and it would be lights out you can't tell me an old pro like Tyson can't catch up with Roy Ruiz got close a few times

Tyson would give up after the 6th round anyway probably he would get too frustrated and probably get dq i could say your living in dream world aswell its just my opinion like yours is aswell no one truly knows what would happen.Originally Posted by TYSONBRUNO

Only way I can see RJJ winning was if he was constantly dancing around, ducking and bobbing, only taking shots he KNEW he could land. Ending the fight on points.
Otherwise, Tyson wins by K.O by the fourth round.
Reckon RJJ is hektic! But he wouldn't have stood Tyson's power.
i think tyson would come out extremly agressive for the first 2 rds against a much smaller RJJ. and i dont like roys chances of making it out of the first rd to be honest with u.

i remember people were talking about the possiblity of this fight after roy beat ruiz.
i think tyson jumps on roy and KOs him.
As i said he said before the Lewis fight now Tyson went 7 rounds with Nielson now i know Neilson was no world beater but he still did 7 rounds with him at his heaviest ever 239lbs so where you get the 2 round crap from i don't know he would demolish Jones and deep down ICE you know thisOriginally Posted by ICE COLD BOXING
I think all the people that are saying tyson would have only been able to keep his foot on the pedal for 2 rounds but its all he would have needed to beat jones having been basing too much on highlights of the early tyson.
After tyson got out of prison, he didnt even move his head anymore. He moved his hands a lot instead. He didnt have his footwork and he'd gas himself out early loading up with telegraphed punches. Its no coincidence that many of the guys he eventually caught up with after early difficulties were guys like Botha, nielson and mathis. They werent in shape and mike simply had less dead weight to drag around with him so he outlasted them. Lewis cut tyson to ribbons because he was prepared, in shape and not scared. A smaller holyfield also bested tyson without taking horrible abuse by using the land and clinch method.
A fighter like jones jr (prepared, in shape, with super fast hands and unorthodox style who has barely been touched by lighter faster fighters) carried up enough power to rock Ruiz at one point. Tyson would have fits with this kind of fighter. Lets not forget that Jones also held a fighter (albeit smaller) with the same style and trainer as the young tyson to a "0 Landed" punch stat already.
The younger tyson would be a completely different story as he had the style and discipline to make use of his power. He had excellent head movement and threw combinations not just, hail mary one shot bombs.

Yes but topic was the 2000s Tyson not prime one and you are right even Botha was outboxing Tyson until he got that punch right at the end of the round and i have watched most of Tysons fights old and new and i wern't saying he could only fight well for 2 rounds in his prime i was on about 2000s version and TYSONBRUNO you brought up Nielsen he was like Butterbean with a better chin at that point in his career.Originally Posted by J_Undisputed
My point with Nielson was Tyson was at his heaviest 239lbs yet paced himself and went 7 and that was before Lewis then did 8 with Lewis so you cant say he could only do 2 rounds.
I just dont get it Ice. I like your posts, but when it concerns Tyson you are oddOriginally Posted by ICE COLD BOXING

I don't think washed up Tyson was good enough for Prime Roy Jones im sorry but i don't i give praise to Tyson but thats my opinion nothing odd about it at all Tyson was a shell of his former self even the slow botha stayed away for 5 rounds and outboxed him that should tell you how far Tyson had slipped and prime Jones is about 10 times faster than Botha.Originally Posted by miles
it's weird right now i'll bet tyson supporter think tyson could kayo all the heavy's right now because he's just that good..the roy that fought ruiz would beat the tyson that fought lewis, etienne, williams, mcbride,

I think you may have misunderstood.. We are in agreement, I was also talking about the 2000 tyson when i said his stamina would only last for 2 rounds. I think a lot of people feel 2 rounds all the old tyson would have needed. The early tyson had enough energy to keep punching all the way through a fight. The 2000's tyson was shell of what he was before. They say powers the last thing to go, So i guess tyson stood the proverbial punchers chance but odds are with Jones being as cautious and prepared as he was for a heavyweight fight, the old faded 2000's tyson wouldnt land that shot.... as the fight went on he'd be less and less likely to land much of anything unless he fouled first. Also the reason tyson lasted long with with nielson was because he never had to chase him, Nielson was hardly the moving target. As for his fight with lewis, other than trying to jab a little early on... Tyson didnt do much but try to plod and follow lewis(who also wasnt that fast on his feet) around the ring and then leap inside occasionally only to be smothered or punched on the way in and being spat back out. Lewis stifled much of mikes offense with his own and kept tyson toward the center of the ring.
Make tyson chase jones and wiff at nothing but air, while being clinched and pot-shotted for 2 rounds and his spirit would have been broken.
