He would of beat Duran but would have lost to Leonard and Hearns.Originally Posted by Mr140
Its easy to say Mayweather would work on inside against Hearns but i disagree you honestly think he would work on inside with Hearns power that would ko Mayweather instantly if he hit Mayweather with his right hand which he did too mostly everyone Hearns was monster at Welterweight and would beat stuffing out of Mayweather its not that easy to get inside against someone of the size of Hearns and as they were trying Hearns would hit them with right hand Hearns wouldn't just stand there and let Mayweather work on inside he would be on his toes and ready to blast that right hand out when Mayweather gets close.Originally Posted by Taeth
BINGO ICE , Tommy Hearns kicks the living crap out of a small former superfeather in mayweather , and i mean easy to ,Originally Posted by ICE COLD BOXING
No waY would Pbf ever have entered a ring with Tommy. He's already selective about who he fights (strangely floating by Margarito) But Tommy Hearns? I dont care if Floyd can go 12 rounds and only get hit with mayb20% of punches. All tommy Hearns needed was a 1% connect percentage and there were problems.

He would make a good fight against each but he would not remain undefeated. Hell, even Leonard, who is considered the best of the bunch, did not remian undefeated.
I also don't think he would remian undefeated if he had come up just 6 or 7 years ago around the time when you had Prime Oscar, Prime Mosley, Prime Tito, Prime Vargas and Prime Quartey, all within 147 and 154. One of these guys would have beat him at some point. You just can't stay undefeated with this kind of opposition. Nobody is that untouchable. It's a shame these guys didn't fight eachother more often. They could have rivaled the fav-4 IMHO.
he would be 38-4
loss to hagler
loss to hearns
loss to duran
loss to leonard.
Duran at 135 would massacre Floyd and at 147 he'd give a hard fight to him too
Leonard at 140-160 would beat Floyd
Hearns would whip his ass no matter what weight class
Hagler would thump him out at 160
People need to get their heads out of the @sses of the 4 greats of the 80s, and you're especially dumb if you think any well rounded fighter of elite caliber can be massacred by any one.
Floyd is a highly skilled fighter with great defense...so i don't think he would embarrass himself against any of the three (or 4, if you include Hagler)...BUT...it would be a tough match up for him against any of them...especially the larger guys. Some people have mentioned how Tommy didn't fight well on the inside...but how the hell would Floyd get in the inside against such a rangy, powerful fighter like Hearns (and don't forget, Hearns had a tremendous jab). Duran would be his best chance...and Duran was a MONSTER puncher who pressured you...so that would be a risky fight as well...and we all know...Floyd doesn't take big risks.

I don't think Mayweather could get inside early on in the fight, but I think he has the reflexes to stay out of the way of almost everyone Hearns would throw. Even though he got totally outboxed Randy Shields was able to work inside on Hearns for 12 rounds before he got stopped by cuts. Leonard was able to get inside on Hearns relatively easily. While Hearns was tall he was also a stick. I don't think Hearns had a very strong lower body which allowed him to move in and out quickly. Hearns would begin the fight by chasing Mayweather around with his jab and occasional right hand, but eventually Mayweather would slip them, and get into the pocket where he would take Hearns apart one punch at a time. Mayweather is very good against taller opponents, and his left jab to the body would take some speed out of Hearns. I think if Hearns had better stamina he would easily win, but he doesn't.Originally Posted by ICE COLD BOXING
Mayweather has never faced a guy of hearns reach and Leonard did get in after taking a beating to the face and his eyes were closing i don't think PBF has the balls to try to get close to hearns.
I think Floyd would beat Duran but lose to Leonard and Hearns. Floyd is good now with the guys who he is fighting, but those guys back then were all that level. Floyd would be in the company of guys just as good as him only bigger. He would not beat Tommy Hearns no way. Leonard no way either. Duran? Duran is just the guy Floyd could beat. A good boxer beats Duran.Originally Posted by Dark Lord Al
