Ive gone for Gomez stunning upset KO
Thing is it will be as about as stunning as Pavliks ko of Miranda, i.e anyone with a half an eye should have been able to see it coming a mile offOriginally Posted by TYSONMAYWEATHER

Gomez has a good chin based on what? The man was wobbling from shots he took from Feliciano. Gatti going to hurt the boy similar to the way he hurt Joey Gamache.Originally Posted by Bilbo
I agree but it did'nt say Gomez by KO it said by stunning upset KO so thats what i had to pick but i will admit i favoured Miranda to beat Pavlik by KOOriginally Posted by Bilbo
Yeah I know I said it because Wacko's poll had the same option Pavlik by stunning KO and I was like 'Why would this be stunning? I'm confident he'll spark out Miranda?'Originally Posted by TYSONMAYWEATHER
Same thing here, Gatti getting knocked out at this stage in his career should really come as a suprise to nobody.
If Gatti comes in the same shape he did when he fought Baldomir, he should KO Gomez imo. To compare Baldomir and Gomez on the basis that neither has great power or by whatever means is stupid. Baldomir is several levels above Gomez and has proven it many times against much better opposition than Gomez has fought. Gatti is well shot, but he still boxed fairly well and landing a lot of hard punches on Carlos, like someone said Baldomir just has an anvil for a head and outlasted him. I don't think Gomez will take Gatti's punches, and he certainly doesn't have the better skills, no matter how faded Arturo really is. I also don't think Gomez lasting 5 rounds on an edited TV show against Ishe smith is any sort of accolade.
Actually Baldimor has only a single impressive name on his record, and that was the woefully inconsistent, ill prepared and undertrained Zab Judah. He should have lost to Joshua Clottey and apart from Gatti I couldn't even name any of his other opponents.Originally Posted by p4pking
And Gomex didn't fight Ishe Smith on the Contender, he fought him in his second professional fight at 2 days notice.
He's handled much bigger guys like Manfredo and Brinkley both whom are now campaigning at super middleweight.
Whether you rate Manfredo or not the fact remains he was still top 10 world ranked before the Contender show and ranked high enough afterwards to get a world title shot against Calzaghe.
I've got great faith in Alfonso and reckon he has enough to beat a faded Gatti down the stretch.
Gatti by tko.
Lest we forget that Gatti is at best a 2nd Tier fighter. I think Gomez beats Gatti because he is BIGGER and because Gatti is as old as JL Castillo, and we will see it in this fight. He should have retired after Mayweather beat him up. Don't get me wrong, I love the guy for his years of blood and guts, but we are about to see the coronation of the new 'Blood and Guts' fighter.Originally Posted by The Promoter
no doubt that Gatti would be Chavez Jr.'s biggest challenge to date, but i see Gatti/Chavez Jr. playing out ironically enough like Chavez/De La HoyaOriginally Posted by dramaking
As this fight approaches bilbo, i have to say that your steadfast support of gomez is becoming more and more ponderous. Gatti may be shot to all hell but picking a journeymen who struggles with other journeymen to beat him is just crazy. I hope you'll like your new sig.![]()
I'm just concerned about what Gatti has left. If he lost to Gomez, it wouldn't surprise me. If he fights Chavez Jr, he'll lose IMO.Originally Posted by Punisher136
If it wasn't for the contender, would you really be asking yourself if gatti has enough left to beat someone with a record like that? I just find it hard to believe that a former world champion can really be THAT shot.Originally Posted by bzkfn
Gatti by TKO, I think he will suprise us all and get the KO by the 6th round!!
