Agree 100% ICE, he still thinks he has the right to pick and choose who he fights because he is a big draw, rather than his acheivements (or lack of) in the ring lately.

it's no worse than Trinidad/Jones Jr., and sadly enough there are plenty people getting up for that fight

Hatton or his dad actually claim that they never said Floyd had to come to 140 for the fight. The story first emerged in the guardian but they were apparently misquoted. If you go onto the official ricky hatton website on their forum there is a topic somewhere about it. One of the forum members (I guess he is close to the Hatton camp unless he is talking rubbish) conducted a telephone interview with Ray Hatton regarding the matter and he claims all he said was that they would fight 'as though' they were training for a 140 bout to keep Hattons speed unlike last time where he reckons they bulked too much.

I don't like Ricky's chances against ODLH, it also makes a bout with Mayweather less interesting and meaningful if he loses to Oscar.

Do you dislike money I think if you were Hatton you would take the fight, and that you weren't really thinking when you posted otherwise. If Hatton fought Oscar at Wembley he would make well over ten million dollars plus massive upside. Noone else would ever bring him nearly as much cash. And realistically, he has no better a chance of beating Mayweather, Cotto, Mosley, than he does Oscar. They'd all crush him imo, but hey if he takes one of them good on him, it's good for boxing.

C'mon now Hatton has a punchers chance in all of those fights. One good kidney shot Plus I think Oscar will be too weak at 147 to be overpowering. He faded in the Mayweather fight if you ask me. That was at 154... The only advantage I would give Oscar is his size, hes taller.

Ricky still lives in his hometown with his family and friends, he has no need to make huge money as he and his son are already set for life (that was his main aim in boxing afterall). He is not greedy, he took a massive pay cut in order to pay KT more cash to make that fight. Who else was trying to make a fight with Kostya after what he did to Mitchell? No one. He wants Floyd and it makes sense for the fight to happen. Its the perfect time actually.

I entirely disagree that it doesn't prove anything. Forget that Oscar faught Mayweather, then what does it prove, or factor it in, it puts Hatton on par with Mayweather at the present if he wins. If Oscar wins, it means he's still a force to be reckoned with. Plus it makes money, now when has making money proved nothing?

i agree with u. My question is why will Hatton move up in weight to fight de la hoya but not go up to fight PBF?

Oscar De La Hoya plans to continue fighting and has targeted Britain's Ricky Hatton for a possible clash next year.
"There's been rumblings going on about it," said the Mexican-American multiple world champion, known as "Golden Boy", of a possible Hatton bout.
"I respect Ricky Hatton. He's a great fighter, he's a great guy. If that fight does get made, fans all over the world will be ecstatic. They will see a fight. Ricky Hatton comes to fight. And that's what I love. If we ever do it, it will be a heck of a show, that's for sure."

Hope this fight happens. I'm tipping Oscar. Bigger and a better puncher
He is just trying get back at Mayweather and get a few more dollars in his pocket.

The rumour of Hatton not being willing to fight Mayweather at 147/154 is completely unfounded and is anti-Hatton propaganda. I'd go as far as to guess it came from the same source that claimed Hatton agreed to a Collazo rematch, and has turned down a fight with Mayweather countless times.
