That's quite ridiculous,no offence but there is NO WAY in hell that MAB is the greatest Mexican ever, there is not even a case for it. That title belongs to JCC or Sal Sanchez. Morales resume is on par with MAB's if not better too.

I've also read Manny weighs 136 pouds and will be sparring 130-150 rounds¬?¬?¬?!?!?!
how can a guy who barrera beat 2-1 in this prime be better than him?

barrera started long before morles, and was the brawler long befor people said morales was... is older yet morales became shot before barrera...

sure JCC was a warrior... but i could be wrong but im pretty sure barrera has been in fights with more p4p fighters than JCC, beaten more p4p fighters than jcc... marco is pushing on 70 pro fights, in this day that is F****** is crazy, 70 fights and still fighiting the best about and doing damn well to...
although i'm a big morales fan as is el gamo, i think morales is at par with barrera and the 3 fights they had could have swung either way. morales got considered shot pretty fast after 2 consecutive fights with the pacman at 130lbs. he sure as hell did quite well in his last fight at lightweight which in my opinion he won even if he did fade in the last couple of rounds. i think erik can still continue fighting at lightweight if only he would maintain his weight close to the 135lbs lightweight limit and not balloon up to 170lbs in between fights. even at 135lbs i think losing so much weight takes it's toll on the body. erik might be on the slide but i honestly don't think he's shot.
Preme,to say MAB has beat better names than JCC is ridiculous and you talk about longevity,JCC had way more. Morales has beaten Jones,MAB,Pac,In Jin Chi,an unbeaten Ayala,Hernandez,Espades,Chavez,Macollugh and Zaragoza.

Those are some great names. MAB has beaten Morales,Nas,Ayala(after Morales),Kelly(after Morales)Mckinney and Sanchez.

I know whos' resume looks better to me..Pretty easy if you know boxing..

As for how why Morales got shot quicker,he fought and warred with better fighters and he was weight drained for a lot of his last fights. MAB has been fighting longer,Morales has beaten far better fighters.

The reason Morales has faded quicker than Marco isn't because he warred with BETTER fighters...it is because all he did was war instead of adapting his style. I love Morales as a fighter...a true warrior...but he wasn't the smartest fighter. His pride and unwillingness to change his fighting style cost him. The sad thing is that Eric is a great technical boxer...but he was to easily lured into a brawl. A perfect example of this is his three fights with Marco. He had a reach advantage against Barrera...but he rarely used it (jab, etc.). Marco got in his head and made him exchange up close rather than control the fights using his other skills. This of course made for 3 incredible and close fights...but it showed who the smarter and better all around fighter was. Barrera has extended his career because he can box, brawl, and use his head to fight tactical fights and adapt. I think their resumes are pretty even...but if Barrera can pull the upset against Pac...he should be considered as a good a Mexican fighter that has ever laced them up.
Just a "good" Mexican fighter? I think he would be more than that. If he beats Pac in rematch, he would be in between "good" and "great". But if he beats Pac again on their 3rd match-up (trilogy), then I would sh1t brick and consider him as great.

That's the way I see it.

You misunderstood what i was trying to say...."as good as any" was meant to imply that his name will be up there with anyone considered the greatest from Mexico. You are an idiot to think that he needs to beat Pac to be considered "good" and "great". He is already a legend.

"as good as any"? Did you even post that on your previous comment? You consider MAB a great fighter,... I don't. For me, he's just a dirty fighter who got his azz raped in front of his own crowd by Pac and became a legend because of that.

You know what i like about you moron? You can't help but make idiotic comment after idiotic comment...it's really amusing. Take Pac's balls out of your mouth and educate yourself about boxing. Aside from your fellow Pac jocker Julius Rain, i don't think you will have anyone else on this board agreeing with your brilliant analysis: "You consider MAB a great fighter,... I don't. For me, he's just a dirty fighter who got his azz raped in front of his own crowd by Pac and became a legend because of that." Are you just plain stupid or just a Pac jocker? I think you are both. So please jackass....reply with another one of your fantastic comments and amuse us all.

lol! Whooaaa! Look who's about to get a heart attack. Call the paramedic!

Would it make you feel better if I say MAB is great? If that will save you from getting a massive stroke, then I will. But easy on the personal insults.

how can a guy who barrera beat 2-1 in this prime be better than him?

sure JCC was a warrior... but i could be wrong but im pretty sure barrera has been in fights with more p4p fighters than JCC, beaten more p4p fighters than jcc... marco is pushing on 70 pro fights, in this day that is F****** is crazy, 70 fights and still fighiting the best about and doing damn well to...

Im not biggest fan of JCC he had 4 gifts in my eyes Juan La Porte, Meldrick Taylor, Pernell Whitaker, Frankie Randall, theres not that much in it with there best wins.

    JCC best wins

    Ruben Castillo
    Edwin Rosario
    Jose Luis Ramirez
    Meldrick Taylor
    Roger Mayweather
    Angel Hernandez
    Frankie Randall
Juan La Porte who gave Salvador Sanchez all he could handle
    Hector Camacho
    Greg Haugen

    Now Compare MAB best wins

    Erik Morales
    Rocky Juarez
    Paulie Ayala
    Kevin Kelley
    Johnny Tapia
    Naseem Hamed
    Kennedy McKinney

Chavez wins with the opponents but not by that much and if Barrera pulls an upset vs Pac MAB will be rated higher on his best wins list than Chavez.

Pac's sparring partners are set to arrive in Manila in about an hour and a half (10am Phil time).

Heh, day by day coverage of the training camp..you guys are die hard Pacman fans. Barrera may be at the end of the road, if he wins this one, he's going down as the best feather/super ever. Its gonna take a miracle tho. Its hard to box and run against Manny, he's gonna need to k.o. for the win.If he wins by decision, I will be shocked.

Session break for Pac (cool intermission).

    Will ‘miss-Fortune’ haunt Pacquiao?

Am afraid for you El Gamo. If there's something I have learned from Pacman, the guy can't be fully trusted to win.

He succumbs to distraction. There are so many distractions for him now. I believe he will be continuing to shoot his movie, that why he decided to stay in the Philippines. Hope I'm wrong.

exactly! mab wouldn't be able to outbox pac the entire 12 rounds. he's gonna have to look for a ko.

I've read the article about Fortune not being important to Manny's training according to Roach. It was Roach who dictated over the phone (while he was training De La Hoya) on what Fortune will do to condition pacman.

hey pacstraight, I enjoy your courage of defending Pacman but I'd like to disagree with your comments on Barrera.

Anyway, it was your opinion and I'd respect that.

If there is a society of die hard fans of Manny, i think I belong there but hope you do not underestimate/belittle MAB.Just a friendly advise from a kababayan.
