Floyd vs Zab was set up long before he lost to Baldomir. Baldomir was supposed to be a meaningless defense to set up the big fight with Floyd, but Zab blew it.

Even if Cotto and Hatton lose they'd still make for a great fight.. Hope that is a genuine possibility.
Q: Floyd, I have mad respect for your skills but stop saying you'll only fight the best when you clearly do not. You take the easiest fights style-wise for the most money. Hatton is tailor made for you, and you are already trying to discrdit the Mosley/Cotto winner so you won't have to fight them. Good business but not the stuff of a fight legend!!

FLOYD MAYWEATHER JR -> Main Chat: Let me teach you about the game young man, Mosley and Cotto are good fighters, but what has Cotto done other than beat fighters I already beat? What's impressive about that? And Shane Mosley is a very good fighter, but Shane suddenly wants to fight me but the whole world knows that he had a number of opportunities to fight me. I don't have to discredit nobody my record speaks for itself. I wouldn't be in this position without beating the top guys. Last I looked Mosley had four losses. And all I do is soften them up for Cotto. If Mosley beats Cotto, Cotto fights Hatton next. Just because you get rocked in a fight and get up, all that shows is that you like taking punishment. Cotto, to me ain't nothing but a punching bag. Cotto don't even believe he should fight me himself. He ain't never mentione my name once, that's just his promoter doing all the talking for him.

Floyds is an idiot if he thinks I don't know about the fact that he himself went around beating fighters with losses and fighters who had already been beaten by Kostya Tszyu and Oscar De La Hoya. How many undefeated fighters has Floyd beat? He has not faced an undefeated fighter since Corrales. All of Floyd's best work has been done in the lighter weight divisions mainly the 130. Sure Cotto faught some of Floyd's left overs but Cotto destroyed those whom took floyd to the distance. I even see Paulie Malignaggi going 12 with Floyd and Paulie coming out of the fight unscaved. (Remember Cottos hand was broken against Paulie and Pualies face still looked like he was ran over by a drunk driver) lol
People are putting all of their marbles on Hatton and I personaly feel that Hatton will not be the one to beat Floyd. I will put my money on Cotto if and when the time comes. Cotto might not ever say he wants to fight PBF, but I know for a fact that he has been training for that day. Cotto will be better prepared for Floyd when the time is right and the time is near. Hoping Cotto beats Mosley so that we can see what unfolds from there.
Cotto might of stopped all of Mayweathers left overs, but he was rocked in every single fight. I like Cotto, but he's not in Mayweather's league.
Cotto was rocked by Corley/ Floyd was rocked by Corley early 3rd and througout the 4th round.
Cotto finishes Corley off/ Floyd gets a UD
Cotto was rocked by Zab/ Floyd was knocked down by Zab regardless if he was hurt or not.
Cotto finishes off Zab/Floyd UD's Zab.
Cotto destroys Sosa in 4 when was he hurt in that fight?/ Floyd UD Sosa

I'm not saying Cotto can beat Floyd easily or anything, but he'll put up a hell of a fight which in my book puts him in Floyd's league. If Floyd were to fight Cotto like he did Corley I don't think he'd last too long. If he fought like he did against DLH or Baldomir then he could most likely pull it out on points. Gatti is not in Floyd's league. Cotto is hands down, but that's just my opinion. We'll know more after the Mosley fight.

Mayweather takes one clean shot against Corley, takes a step backwards. Than proceeds to avoid all of Corley's punches. How is that being rocked? Being rocked is when Corley hit Cotto. Cotto was so F****** hurt, he couldn't even stumble right. He was stumbling sideways. Mayweather dominated Corley. Cotto won by bogus stoppage. Against Judah, Mayweather was never hurt. Cotto was hurt at least 3 times against Judah.
I don't know how to post a video, but here is the link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EbArg6JYODQ if you say he wasn't in trouble, you and I have a different view on trouble. I never said Floyd was hurt against Judah I said he was knocked down. Cotto never touched the canvas. If the Corley fight wasn't stopped he would have just taken even more of a beating. He got off easy compared to the rest of Cotto's recent opponents. My point isn't Cotto can beat Mayweather my point is Cotto is in Mayweather's league and will give him a run for his money.

I seem to remember Floyd taking one big shot and leaning against ropes using good defensive skills to avoid Corley's shots and then proceed to kick Corely's a** all over the ring and winning every round however Cotto vs Corley Cotto was stumbling around the ring like a drunk man and was almost koed and won by questionable stoppage.

And the other wins mean nothing because Floyd is a boxer and Cotto is a puncher it doesn't matter if Floyd takes longer than Cotto to finish opponents Mayweather's job is to break his opponents down and win one sided decisions or late stoppage Cotto is brawler with who is very strong who comes straight forward looking for a knockout there both good at what they do and just because Cotto finish's them earlier doesn't make it more impressive than Mayweather dominating his opponents with great boxing skill and defense.
Please see video to refresh your memory.
Sorry but in my eyes a beatdown is more impressive than a decision victory, using defense and pot-shotting and history shows that boxing fans agree. Once again I am not saying because Cotto beat the same opponents faster he is better. I am saying he is in Floyd's league and will give him a good fight. IF he can get by Mosely.
That video is no different to what i said Mayweather hurt for split second leaning against the ropes then coming back and whipping Corely i think you need to refresh you memory on Corely vs Cotto because Cotto was staggering around the ring like a drunk man.
When did I deny that Cotto was hurt by Corley He was out on his feet no doubt, but Corley payed for it. I saw Floyd hurt on two occasions late in the third which agrees with your point, and early in the 4th where he was hurt for a hell lot longer than a split second. This where he went to the ropes and didn't throw nothing and took plenty of clean shots. Cotto WAS hurt worse than Floyd, but the same fighter gave Floyd a similar problem. When I saw the Cotto fight live I honestly thought he was done, but we all know what happened next. Usually when a fighter dances with the stars like that he usually tastes the canvas. CC once again for the debate and to all those that CC'd me as well.
    I know everything about nothing!

Mayweather took one shot in that clip. That's it. He wasn't fucking hurt. You need to watch the fight instead of paying attention to what the announcers say. Use your eyes not Lampley's voice.

Mayweather took one shot in that clip. That's it. He wasn't F****** hurt. You need to watch the fight instead of paying attention to what the announcers say. Use your eyes not Lampley's voice.
    :56 left in the 3rd
    2:50 left in the 4th
I F****** hate Lampley so don't give me that crap. I never pay attention to what announcers say they're too damn biased similar to the FMJ nuthuggers. :;insert smiley hanging from Floyd's nuts. I have nothing against Floyd, I even met the guy once at one of my cousin's fights before he was Money Mayweather and he seemed cool then. You still haven't convinced me that he was not hurt. Maybe I'll ask him in the next chat.

I don't agree, Mosely would be a much harder fight for Floyd than Cotto would in my opinion! Mosely has better boxing skills, better defence, more speed and just as much power (arguably more because he carried it straight to 154). Floyd would use his footwork and pick holes in Cotto's defence all night long. He'd have a harder time doing that against mosely.

Your 2nd point I also disagree with..what is this fasination with facing unbeaten fighters? How many unbeaten fighters can you truly face in your career? People saying that Mayweather hasn't faced unbeaten opposition since Corales aren't thinking straight. True that a fight between 2 ESTABLISHED unbeaten boxers gives the fight an extra appeal but it's almost like you're discrediting Floyd for fighting guys like Oscar, Genaro, Castillo, Judah etc because they had been beaten! So with that logic Katsidis, Amir Khan, Chavez Jr, Berto are all better than Mosely, Oscar, Hopkins, Wright because they don't have losses next to their names Bad arguement IMO

Floyd hasnt done anything Spectacular since beating Corrales. Hes been a very average champion in who has fought and beaten compared to past champs. I dont know why people dont see this. His 0 means nothing but hype $. He is a talented fighter but he hasnt lived up to his potential imo.

Can you name a champion out there that's accomplished more?

Bernard hasn't accomplished more by a long shot. World titles in 2 weight classes and he's 2 and 2 in his last 4 fights

You might be right about Jones, but Jones is in the twilight of his career and Mayweather is only 30 or 31.

World titles in 5 different weight classes while being undefeated at 30 years old with almost 40 fights already .......

Sounds like a legend in the making to me (and everyone else that isn't a hater)

2 million would still be a career high payday for Cotto
