Calzaghe says he wants to fight for one more year and then hang them up. That means two more big fights. If I'm Joe, I wait to see what happens with Pavlik-Taylor and try to get the winner. Then, if he wins, move up and make his last fight against Hopkins for the true 175 championship. If he does the Hopkins fight first, it will make it more difficult to then move back down. I don't see either Pavlik or Taylor going all the way up to 175 at this point. I guess they could do it at a catch weight. If Joe wants two more big fights, those are the two. But it sounds like he's made his mind up to go to 175 now. He mentioned Jones Jr. as a possibility, so I guess he's looking to go Hopkins, Jones Jr. and retire. Cad Dawson would be crackling fight, but he doesn't have a big enough name yet. There isn't much else at 175 that would be considered a big fight. I guess a bout with Woods would be big in Wales but not anywhere else.

Anyway, to answer the question of this thread, I think Calzaghe wins a UD in an ugly. But if the ref let's Hopkins roughhouse, I could see him pulling it out. I do not think it will necessarily be a crowd pleaser either way.

Hopkins almost always finds a way to win. He would outpoint Joe

    Hopkins UD is my vote.

I know Joe looked great against Kessler. Kessler's a strong, solid but stolid fighter. Bernard has a lot more tools than Kessler.

Not saying easy UD and I have tons of respect for Joe. Just voted that way. A fight I'd like to see.

you could be onto something here...never would I have thought Joe would throw over 1000 punches against Kessler!!! Never!!!! I think the work rate might force B-HOP to go old sckool on Joe C though...and B-HOP could bring the Hammer!!!! His experience would carry him much better than Kesslers...Kessler at times looked lost and confused at the same time!! He was overwhelmed when Joe started to bring it...B-HOP would do a much better job at counterpunching....and he would not become lost ever!
It feels good to be back home.
