funny to see some many prunes on here saying gayweather is gonna whup hatton...we will all be pissing our pants laughin at you after he's gone down like a bitch in the same manner as castillo...your boy hits like a girl, he was lucky to get the nod against de la hoya and he was far from his best..do you think hatton is slow and one dimensional? think again, hatton will stop him in or around round 8, could even be before...calzaghe is a better p4p fighter than that load mouthed ballet dancing gimp...

I am not sure who will win this but I think this will be a SD. I think it will be close enough that the judges will see different things from their position. Also if Floyd stays on the ropes as much as he did against Oscar then i think that is totally the wrong tactics.

Contrary to what a lot of people are saying I think this will be a close fight and am leaning towards Hatton with my heart but PBF with my head.

Roger Mayweather has obviously taken to many hits to the head the way he spouts on and its obviously affected his nephew.

I think Hatton has proved you do not need to be a loud mouthed smack talker to sell tickets.

My little rant over I am going back to obscurity now.

There is a good chance FMJ stops Hatton.

To be fair, Mayweather is a 135er fighting at 147/154. It is unreasonable to expect him to stop Baldomir or Delahoya.

Delahoya fought Trinidad, Mosley twice, Vargas, Sturm, Quartey, Mayorga and Hopkins. In those 90+ rounds with very strong punchers, only Hopkins was able to stop him at middleweight, and that was on a bodyshot. Both Oscar and Baldomir are big men who both have terrific chins.

By contrast, Ricky Hatton is a JWW. And Hatton was down vs Magee and badly hurt vs Collazo. Neither are concussive punchers.

Here is Mayweather's record vs natural JWW's:

    Bruseles: 2 knockdowns, TKO win
    Gatti: knockdown, brutal TKO win
    Corley: 2 knockdowns, wide decision.
    Mitchell*: 2 knockdowns, TKO win.

I would say FMJ's power record vs 140ers is pretty darn respectable. And Floyd is a stronger fighter now than he was at 140. Hatton would be making a mistake if his plan is to try and walk through Mayweather's fire. RH should be appropriately defensive.

gatti and mitchell came up from 130-135 so they arnt natrual 140, by contrast hatton fought collazo who came down from 150-155 that is a huge difference, that is why his punches where "concussive".... i guarnatee you a 150 natrual collazo hits harder than a 140 natrual mayweather at 147

mayweather koing an old-overweight gatti and other 140 top 10 is completely different than the 140 ring champ hatton in his prime....

hatton is on a much much higher level.... there is no way mayweather ko's hatton ... Floyd might win but but the only way he could win by ko would be cuts and i think there is a better chance of mayweather being ko'd...

I respectfully disagree. I think that Hatton has yet to take the number of punches he will see on 12/8. But we'll just watch and see.

can the haters come up with another reason to hate calzaghe...

he is a top 10 P4P on everyone's list, anyone who thinks calzaghe or hatton is less respectable than witter is an idiot....

i hate name calling but that is just simply idiotic to think calzaghe and hatton dont deserve the credit that comes along with being a top 10 P4P it shows you care more about your emotions than the facts, and it shows your blind ignorance......

not to mention it gets old hearing over and over and over from the same 3 or 4 posters that calzaghe hands are fragile, hatton struggled against collazo, calzaghe hasnt fought anyone, hatton got knocked down by magee,

WELL SOON ENOUGH HATTON WILL BEAT MAYWEATHER AND CALZAGHE WILL B*TCH SLAP B-HOP IN AMERICA, AND THEN ALL THE HATERS WILL FINALLY GET SHUT UP FOR GOOD....

Joe hasnt fought elite names... you dont know SH@t.....

just who do you think will beat Joe at 168-175 he smokes dawson, b-hop, kessler, bute, tarver.. who should he fight

just admit that you hate joe and its not just because of boxing

their are countless Floyd haters but they dont say he sucks because he only fights one contender than a weak champ X 5 and that why he is a 5 weight champ... they simply admit that he is a mouthy, d*ck head, a$$hole that belittles people with his money, and language.... if you dont like hatton or joe because of their personalties than say it, but dont act like you dislike them because they cant box good because it makes you look like either hater or an idiot...

mayweather hit zab all night and didnt ko him, and hatton has alot better chin...

have you seen the kosta-hatton fight... and kosta-zab fight... and may-zab..

if hatton took kosta punches he should walk through mayweathers..

its crazy to me people uses the collazo fight to describe hatton but the only fighter that both of them fought, castillo, gets no mention... obviously castillo was younger and fresher against Floyd but it is still a fact that hatton destroyed the man that gave floyd his hardest fight.... but i dont think that means much.... but i am surprised it isnt brought up more..

The castillo triangle would get more (any?) credibility if the gap in time was small.

But it was five years. Andin that intervening time, Castillo got KO'd in one of history's most brutal fights, had severe weight problems, and looked pretty crappy in the two preceding fights to Hatton.

Those are just facts as well.

I can beat up Jake LaMotta today. That would not impress you. At a certain point, you have to acknowledge that a fighter isn't the same.

I think its crazy to think Hatton will just walk through Floyds punches. He may not have earnie shavers power, but name one of his 38 opponents hwo have just walked thru his punches? He throws a stiff straight right, and fast counters that are hard to push forward thru. If HAtton thinks he can just walk thru PBF's punches he will be commting boxing suicide and will be stopped late on.

As for Castillo, PBF fought him at his best weight(135) and at his prime. And Floyd completely outboxed a prime Castillo in the rematch. Hatton fought JLC when he was obviously past his best and what many would call shot, he had obviously not trained hard(could hardly make weight) and fought with none of his former heart cos he wasnt getting paid fuck all.
If u bring up the Castillo fight i'll bring up the collazo v hatton fight, which many thought Collazo won. He is the closest thing in terms of styles(altho southpaw) that Ricky has faced and Hitman had all sorts of trouble. Remember Collazo is only half the fighter Floyd is, and doesnt hit as hard yet did Hatton walk thru his punches?

But in reality past opponents wont mean shit when the fight starts, just who is the better fighter on the night.
