Is it fair to pressume that if a fighter dips below waist level that it is illigal to punch as the only viable place to strike is on the back of the head?

Should it not then be the case that any fighter should not be permitted to contort to such unearthly disfiguremnet

..... Phhh! Im never gonna get anywhere with this question, i just know it
Yeh i'd actually like to know the proper answers to these questions.

No i'm not bitter by the way....you all know am a Hatton fan....but he just got beat, plain and simple.

Is Floyd defence bordering on illegal? Or is it the most effective way to avoid punches? Or is it both?

If it is legal (and i think it must be) then it is by far the most effective defence i have ever seen. There is basically no target to land a punch on.

And the use of the forearm is the perfect set up to land a lead right.....seriously Floyd has got everything.
it's clever if you bend to the waist line, you have little target unless the guy is real short and can land an uppercut, what usually happens is the other guys charges forward and leans on, in which case you can claim he was pushing you down, and/or the ref steps in and restarts.

Excessive use of anything will get you penalised.

I've not been a massive fan of either boxer but really

    lol

i know he was dipping down but i take it his head would have to be below Hatton's waistline for it to be a foul. Take it it was then.

Jesus man the fight came on at at 5am. I was barely coherent.

Floyd only used it when Ricky was trying to tackle him. Seriously Hatton was looking to hold first then hit. Thats not boxing thats like MMA style, maybe Ricky trained to long at that MMA gym. Looked like he was trying to shoot in on Floyd.
