Khan is the big favorite, but I'm still somewhat surprised about the negative attitude towards Martin Kristjansen. Has anyone here actually seen him fight? He's easily a top 10 European lightweight, not necessarily better than Earl, but not really a step back either. I would definetely favor Kristjansen against any of Khan's previous opponents as well, even if I am not exactly Kristjansen's biggest fan.

Also Ice, he is _not_ a Dutchman, he is a Dane. And he doesnt speak Dutch, he speaks Danish. Dutchmen are from Holland/Netherlands (no, Ice, I am not trying to be rude here - just find it a bit funny that people always seem to confuse those, even if I've never really understood why)

No offense taken! Just thought it was my duty as a Dane to point it out

Kristjansen lacks power, but usually relies on heart and the fact that he is faster than his opponent, especially when it comes to footspeed (probably his biggest advantage - and one which he doesnt have against Khan). He tend to be a bit predictable, but, as I said, has plenty of heart and has been in good scraps.

His biggest fights to date are the outings against tough Italian Stefano Zoff. He met Zoff in Rome for the EBU title back in 2004 and lost. He rematched Zoff at home last December for the EBU-EU and WBO Inter-Continental titles, and the fight ended in a draw. The decision was somewhat disputed (Kristjansen was also somewhat helped by a 'long count'), but a case could be made for Kristjansen winning as well. This year the former European Champ Zoff lost a close decision to Romanov for his old title.

I think Khan will take him out. But as I said, Kristjansen is not nearly as bad, as people on this forum make him out to be.

FWIW I remember a fellow Dane calling Limond for 'a poor man's Martin Kristjansen'. I havent seen enough of Limond to judge whether that is a fair comparison though.

See, I'm of a similar opinion to Mikkel on Kristijansen, although his KO record isn't scintillating, you don't get to the top one or two spots in Europe just by beating Steffy Bull bums...you have to be a bit decent.

His first fight against Zoff was also really early in his career....he was progressed much quicker than Khan was...perhaps too quickly though.

ICB I really could go on with you all day about this but i'd just be repeating myself like you are and I've already stated my view on things on why i feel Froch is overrated and Khan is the real deal at this moment in time. Hopefully both of them will become world champs in 08 and there's a pretty realistic chance of it happening.

However I wanted you to know about this warmed up thing, yes I have stepped into a ring and took up boxing for a couple of years ago. Although I did'nt have any amateur bouts I did everything else including sparring etc though but I have not boxed in the last year for various reasons and doubt that i ever will go back boxing training as I much prefer watching and discussing boxing than actually doing it and as for fitness goes I play competitive mens tennis in the Liverpool league and doing pretty well as last summer I got picked to play in my club's A team and we won one of the major cups on offer so I'm keeping fit by doing that.

Anyways I respect your opinion, have a on me and hopefully 08 will show me why you like Froch so much. Lefty

Froch WILL be champion when he knocks out Dennis Inkin in his next fight

Not unless Calzaghe decides to vacate by then, and the WBC promote this from an eliminator to a title fight.
