    Daxx,
You are spot on with the 1st explanation. You can have 9-9 and 9-8 rounds heck you can even have 7-7 rounds if it came to that.
10 Must system is your starting base meaning both fighters start off with 10-10 points that's why when they say I have that an even round it's scored 10-10 round.
From 10-10 you deduct 1 point to the person who lost the round then you also deduct a point if he is ruled knocked down.

Theres no need in re-explaining it if someone doesn't get then they just don't get it and should look into it.

Mick, have you ever seen a scorecard with 9-9 or 9-8 written on it?

Let me clarify this he's a former boxer, turned ref. and is now a judge.
I wouldn't put who he is on here as I'm sure he would want it that way.
I'll tell you this he's been in and around the sport since the 1940s if anyone knows the answer to this it's him.

I hope he answers even if it's not today.

The only 9-9 round that comes to mind is when Harold Ledderman scored the 9th round of the Whitaker vs Hurtado fight 9-9.

The lowest possible score a fighter can get in a round is 10-6.
For the most part even when theres no 3 knockdown rule when a fighter hits the canvas more then 3/4 times chances are the refs. stopping the fight.
That's why when Pac dropped JMM 3 times that round could have been scored 1 of 2 ways. 10-6 or 10-7 it all depends on who the judge is and how he scores. Both fighters start off 10-10.
10 minus 3 (for the knockdowns) is 7 points for JMM it could stay that way OR you can also deduct 1 more point for Pacs dominance/wining that round making it 10-6.
