I think a perfect fight for Lacy would be against Andrade. Before he gets put in with guys like Kess or Miranda, he should be put in front of Librado and I think him and his camp and the fans could get a good gauge on him. Andrade isn't the best boxer around or slick, but will bring endless pressure and make Lacy fight. Manfraudo didn't bring it out in him, as he was too busy staring at the clock, and I think Lacy needs a fight right now where it is forced on him. Andrade will if anything do that IMO.

i agree with ice cold. the sheika fight really made lacey look ordinary. But anybody hwo watch Lacey should have heard al berinstein saying it all only. he always praised lacey for fight often once he got the belt and being exciting. Al bernsteing always stated that lacy's lacey wasn't a perfect fighter.

Lacey can be the definition of one deminsional but at the same time he got the job in an entertaining fashion.

Totally different Ali before the fight with Cooper and after the fight with Cooper had shown he was a great fighter. Lacy before and after Calzaghe fight had never shown he was one of the top Super Middleweights.
Lacy was rated high by every major sanctioning body and you know it, and was undefeated... I notice you like to denegrate a fighter when it is convenient to further your arguement. Not to mention you didnt even belong to this forum when the 2 of them fought, so if you were trying to convince everyone on the Larry Holmes forum that Calzaghe would win then more power to you.

You have developed this bad habit of using hindsight to promote your opinion... You have been inconsistent on quite a few occasions and have vasolated after the fight takes place and then try to convince everyone that you had that opinion all along when you didnt.... Not saying this is one of them but you have done it quite a bit the last few months

I have to agree that alot of people,in this instance are using hindsight. As with most of Joe's wins. At the time,Lacy was highly rated, undefeated and seen as unstoppable. Granted you knew,if you watched him, that he didn't have 1 punch ko power, but you also knew that he looked like the kind of guy that could beat Joe. I respect and admire guys with the knowledge of Al Bernstein, and even posters like Amat and JT,and they chose Jeff for a reason,as did 95% of the rest of the people(in fact everyone, neutrals etc apart from JC fans) who watched the fight. Joe won,and now Jeff didn't look good here, there,Jeff was over rated etc. That may be true now,but at the time,Lacy was the next big thing. That is a fact.

I'd love to see Jeff v Andrade, and if he fights like he did v Manfredo,if his shoulder and the rust bothers him,Andrade is taking him out of there.

You obviously didn't read my other posts because i stated in those other posts that i go with my own opinion. And not other peoples opinions there was major flaws in his game even before Calzaghe fight in the fights i mentioned.

Im not trying to put anyone down im voicing my opinion on the Lacy, i see major flaws in Lacy's game way before Calzaghe fight. Lacy got very overrated because of his KO win over shot Robin Reid, in his fights with Vanderpool, Sheika, who are mediocre fighters at best Lacy showed flaws and also showed that he was on the one dimensional side. I predicted Calzaghe would win pretty clear cut decision, now i don't want to sound nasty here but i don't care if you or anyone else don't believe me i know i did and thats all that matters to me, i see most of Lacy's fights before Calzaghe fight plus i had seen a lot of Calzaghe's fights. And style wise i heavily favored Calzaghe. I have already admitted that i didn't think it would be as one sided as it was but still i predicted clear cut UD for Calzaghe.

I really don't know what your on about at all JT, i am very fair to all fighters even ones i dislike. But i see Lacy's flaws way before Calzaghe fight, and its nothing to do with Lacy getting dominated by Calzaghe or having off performances against Vitali or Manfredo. The flaws were already there its just got worse and worse because of Lacy's injuries plus Lacy losing confidence. Do i like Lacy ?? yes i like his attitude and i want to see him do well, but that still doesn't change the fact that i see major flaws in Lacy even before Calzaghe fight and like i said earlier its nothing to do with hindsight.

Im not using hindsight i already see the flaws way before Calzaghe fight, and as for your last comment like i said to JT i don't care if 99 percent of the public thought Lacy would win. I have got my own opinion and thats what i go with not other peoples opinions.

Not that my observations matter but like I stated you have been using hindsight as a way to promote the bulk of your debates lately, couple that with the fact that you stated a few months back after you and Bilbo jumped on me after a debating contest, that you would basically do anything to win a debate even if it meant stating inaccuracies as you did when debating brucelee and it was someone else fault if they didnt pick up on it and you said you even you had trouble Slating Sugar Ray Robinson with some untruths but again you had to do what you had to do to win you said

Bilbo and me already explained that to you JT thats totally different to a normal debate in the main board. I think you need to look back at what me and Bilbo posted and you will understand. Im not trying to win anything JT im just voicing my opinion thats it.

No worries Boxer, Lacy had us all convinced early in his career (although I was on team Calzaghe that night.)

After that fight I have to say I was never so annoyed at a fighter, I thought "Jeff what the hell?"

However having met Lacy once myself and my friend having trained with him, I have to say he's one of the true nice guys of the sport and I sincerely hope he can come back.

to be honest if had more knowledge about Joe Calzaghe i might not would have picked him. At that time Lacey was in good fights and fougth often. He was very good for boxing. I knew he had flaws but i had know clue they would be exploited the way they were.
