He can fight anywhere in the ring, he backs up the bigger guys, he has a cast-iron chin, and back in the day he had a lot of speed.

    As for you el Game

how was Taylor-Winky a close fight? Can you tell me the punch stat numbers again? How was Winky-Vargas a close fight, he way outlanded Vargas in almost every round not to mention made Vargas look like a fool offensively. Against Harry Simon he wasn't robbed, but he clearly won the fight, sure it was the closest fight by far, but he didn't deserve to lose that fight.

I'd like you to tell me the punch stat numbers for the fight as I have not seen them.Go on. As for how was it a close fight,it's rather simple, the fight wasn't dominated by either fighter. Winky was landing more punches but Taylor was by far landing the harder punches, and when Winky had him on the ropes and JT fought back,JT would move WInky back with his fists, and stunned Winky at times. It was not a robbery in any sense of the word.

Vargas landed plenty of clean punches on Winky and again,it was a close fight.Simon fight could have gone either way. My point still stands,Winky has had close fights and yeah,he's been unlucky with the decisions at times but they are not the robberies they are made out to be.

Please post the punch stats as I'd like to see them, but honestly,if that's all your basing the WInky got robbed theory on,punch stats, then that's a weak argument imo becase sometimes the stats may tell you everything, and sometimes they tell you nothing, and in a fight where 1 guy clearly was the bigger stronger guy and landing the harder punches, the other landing more, they don't tell you much.

For Wright-Taylor Wright landed 226 out of 643(35%) Taylor landed 163 out of 703(23%) and the only way a person would think Taylor was landing a lot of shots of the ropes or in any part of the ring if they were listening to Jim, who is IMO blind. Wright was backing up Taylor, blocking almost everything, and then he was landing almost everything he wanted to including combinations while Taylor's back was against the ropes. There is no way that fight was close. In Vargas fight, its funny how even the HBO commentators(Who were trying to hype Vargas(17,0(17)) at the time still had Wright winning. Vargas was hardly landing anything, and I think people just weren't used to Wright's style yet, but that fight was the most one sided IMO and the easiest to see that Wright was robbed.

That;s where we differ I'm afraid. I saw Winky backing JT up for sure but I also saw JT involuntarily backing himself up. I saw Winky initiate the action, but I saw JT fighting back from the ropes. I saw WInky block punches and still get puched back, such was the force of JT's punches on him.

I have no care in the world for what Lampley or HBO says or has winning. If a fights' contraversial,I re-watch it with the sound down or a different broadcast to get a different perspective. My memory is rusty on the Vargas Winky fight but I'm going to go rewatch that later and post again. There's no way a Wright v JT fight was a robbery imo. I thought it was close.

It was a close fight. I hate when people call fights that were extremely close "robberies."

Sorry Taeth but like i said to you in the other thread i totally disagree with your views on both fights. First off Compubox are not accurate, i mean Holmes vs Spinks 2 was a clear cut win for Holmes and it is considered one of the biggest robberies of all time, yet Compubox had Spinks landing more punches than Holmes which escapes me. Taylor vs Wright was very close fight most experts and boxing fans had it very razor thin close fight, and they all can't be wrong can they ?? Taylor IMO landed the harder shots and his shots got through Wright's guard more times than what a lot of people believe. And as for Vargas vs Wright no way was that a robbery, Vargas threw over 90+ punches in the last few rounds he really digged deep and showed he wanted just as much as Wright who slightly faded down the stretch. I had it a draw i think Vargas earned a draw because he clearly won last 3 rounds if i remember right, and he totally out punched Wright in those rounds. Most of the fight was fought in close quarters and they were pretty even all the way, no one ever had a really major advantage in the fight, and Vargas had good success going to Wright's body, i think the word *Robbery* gets thrown about way too much in razor thin close fights.
