LOL well, I started this post purely as a joke obviously and it seems to have gone into debate, which I suppose can be good.
The thing which in a sense is good about the current system is, IMO, seeing that it all began at zero and when isn't being overly manipulated, a person who consistantly makes decent posts, and spends a lot of time here contributing will be rewarded with those efforts, if one considers them some form of merit.
But for the love of all things clicky and reppy, meh...as a freshly back self-banned messageboardaholic...either system isn't worth the spit you'll find on a sidewalk if you push yourself away from the keyboard and go for a nice stroll to smell the flowers, or the worry or concern once you get there. Fact.
As far as seniority goes, I look at a persons date of when they got here, and number of posts. And from that perspective I can tell you in many cases it means a person has good boxing knowledge and much to contribute, someone to learn from. i've learned plenty already and appreciate it. But in others with equal time I have seen what I believe to be little more then talking out their ass. Just diligently. You get 2 people been at the job years, doesn't automatically equal both good employees. So goes the debate.
I kinda liked the Old Guard idea, I must say..as a way for people to say..."I been here and weathered the storms and adversities of this message board. Been here 2 years, am Old Guard" kinda logic...but I don't much like divisions.
It causes people to join sides and I believe leaves brand new members swinging in the balance. I'm not talking bout myself, cuz I got my own fan club, membership base of 1!And I'm okay with that.
But I do wonder about those quiet new ones. Where do they fit?
Obviously the circus shit joins the baggins club.![]()

Your irritation at my presence on the boards and the contempt you have for my clan amuses me.
We have a started a weekly self expression course now at Clan Baggins where we combine singing, drama and dance with an open discussion club where we all sit in a circle and tell each other our troubles. We then offfer support and comfort, and obviously a nice cup of tea and a biscuit or two!
You don't have to be a member to come along and you'd be most be most welcome![]()
Bilbo I have to admit that I have tried to piss you off in a back-ass kindof way for quite awhile. And it is even funnier that I haven't been able to do it.
I just ordered a movie in Bulgarian with subtitles, about a circus along time ago that is taking this dead whale around Russia as an exhibit. It is called Wierkmiester's [sic] harmonies. I can't wait until I get it! I thought of you.

Yea youngblood, you would be hard pressed to find someone with Old Guard stirring up shit or getting involved in it for that matter, its not mentioned on the main board except by Juliusbut all in all I found my claim to be 100% accurate and anyone with Old Guard has held true to what we claim to be and what we represent
People who are guests or under 100 posts only see that by our avatar and wouldnt know the difference except maybe the dignity we carry ourselves

The reason you fail Booze is that I relish being a clown. Any man who creates his own cuddle thread and has formed a hobbit and elf based online clan is pretty hard to offend by suggesting he's an idiot.
It's what I live for
By the way the movie sounds great, I'd like to check that out myself, I love eccentric things like that.
Yeah it is by the film maker Bella Tarr. He makes like Dead Pan movies with like 10 minute cuts. In black and white. It seems more like art work in a movie. But his movies are really really long. This is a really short one at 140 minutes.
Satantango, which I want to get but it is only in European DVD format (i didn't know there was a difference?) is over 7 hours long.
