I've watched quite a bit of bit, the scoring is bad but not nec bias. Of the chinese fighters IVE seen (maybe there were some I've missed which were worse) the scoring was pretty consistent, and wether a punch scored or not depended on the fussiness of the judges.

The BBC1 commentary was getting tedious after just one session, EVERY SINGLE fight had an exxaggerated comment 'how did that not score' when it's clear from the nature of the scoring some will be missed, it's all they can fuching talk about.

    I think you're right.

The scoring is poor, but by no means unfair.

They changed the system after Roy Jones' robbery in 88, but IT'S NOT WORKING. These judges can hardly judge a fight on paper scoring, let alone count every landed punch. It's really a joke. At least with paper scoring, you didn't have the judges on display for each and every missed punch. During the Warren bout, I watched as Warren scored a pt falling down!! I also saw the Korean boxer score when Warren slipped a punch and threw a straight cross to his face. At about 1:47 left of the 4th round, the Korean boxer scores with a straight punch to the midsection. About ten seconds later, Warren throws the same punch and knocks him to the ropes - NO POINTS. At about 1:03 left, he does it again in the middle of the ring - NO POINTS. I know judges are human, but it bothers me having the scores or lack thereof right there for me to see.

I also can't stand open scoring. This isn't boxing. '76 Games - that was boxing. This is track and field. I can't blame boxers for using it to their advantage, but it really does a disservice to the sport. Imagine someone hearing about boxing for the first time and then watching the Olympics. Wouldn't the be confused? They would hear about this combat sport that involves speed, hand-eye coordination, endurance, mental and physical toughness only to SEE a game of tag-your-it/keep away. Get rid of open scoring please, Ching-Kuo Wu, please. We get it, you tried to right a sport that was wrong, but over the last two Olympic games, but don't you get it? It's not working! It's a shame when you can't really say that the winners of "Olympic boxing" are really the best boxers in the world. Isn't that the point of the Olympics?

The probem is with the spectator, if you have a preference you will notice HIS points not scoring not the other way, saw two more chinese guys today and saw nothing wrong.

Still a shitty way of scoring, kind of like fencing, and I wouldn't watch that if someone paid me.
