Default Your favorite fighter in a fight they dissapointed you in

I'll start if you know me at all you know my favorite fighter is Jhonny Gonzalez. In all the time I've been following him I've only once been dissapointed in his performance. That one time was against Montiel.
Although I thought Gonzalez clearly was ahead at the end of the fight, it was clear that neither guy was willing to put anything behind any punches. It was a very lackluster performance by two fighters that have amazing ability.
For every story told that divides us, I believe there are a thousand untold that unite us.

The way Hopkins fought Taylor the first time didn't impress me. He was too eager to make Taylor miss that he wasn't getting any offense of his own together,His gameplan to wait till Taylor got tired then take him out was a bad gameplan and it backfired. He did do well in the late rounds but it wasn't enough to get him a draw on the judges scorecards let alone a win. I personally don't know anyone that could have Hopkins winning that fight.... He at most deserved a draw.

Nigel Benn in his fights with Steve Colins.Seemed to lack the heart and fire in both fights.

Steve Robinson against Naz.Cant blame Robo because we did not know how good Naz was at that stage.

Hatton against Mayweather.I got caught up in all the hype and thought ricky was going to win.Be truth be told it was not even close.

Arguello vs. Fernandez I - Talk about a shitty performance.
Sanchez vs. Ford - A porr showing IMO of Sanchez vs. someone he should have clearly beaten.
Foster vs. Folley - Foster was just badly outboxed.
Napoles vs. Muniz I - Napoles needed Sulaimans help here and he looked horrible in this one.
Eubanks vs. Collins - I think he fought well at times but I also think he could have done much more then what he showed.
JCC vs. Cabrera - Sure JCC completely dominated him but Cabrera was there for the taking.
Duran vs. Laing - WTF was that?
Morales vs. Zahir - Did Erik have any other plan besides looking for big punches?
Olivares vs. Hafey I & II - Poor showings by "El Puas" though on the decline he could have done a lot more.
ODLH vs. PBF - Not the night of the jab? WTF?
Kats vs. Diaz - Really dissapointed in Kats, he completely fought the wrong fight.

I disagree about Salvador Sanchez vs Patrick Ford say what you want about Ford, but he was tall and had a good jab, his height and reached bothered Sanchez and Sanchez struggled in the early rounds. But he comeback strong like a true champion in the later rounds, and showed his class i think it was a good performance personally, because he was losing and showed he could comeback from losing and adapt.

And I disagree with you, having just soundly beat Lopez 2 times and outboxed Chucho Castillo, he should have soundly beat Ford with ease. Instead he was still half asleep half way through the fight.
The one judge who had an obscene score was from Sanchez hometown of Santiago Tianguistenco in the Ring Mag. volume for that time they talk about this and how the judge was set up.
I'm not saying Sanchez lost the fight but I'm saying his follow up performance was shit.
The samy way I think Hattons follow up performances have been having beat Tszyu.
Sanchez having just beat Lopez was dissapoiting in this fight.
He did comeback, and that says it all he cameback from somewhere where he shouldn't have been.

Lennx Lewis in the 1st Rahman bout...Coming in to SA knowing there is a altitude difference for one and not coming in time to adjust..but more importantly...not training for the fight and opting to shoot a movie......

Just could not believe he was soo arrogant and ended up with an L to that bum to follow him throughout time

    Margarito vs Williams

Margarito had Williams timed the whole night, but spent more time using his defense and catching pitter patter punches that SCORE legitimate points on the scorecards.

    "cool click" heh Great thread.

Naz when he fought Barrera because if he hadn't fooooked about and trained hard like anyone would for there biggest fight he would have won he shouldn't have just relied on his power.

Being a big James Toney fan there is so many times that I have been ticked off at him for not coming into a fight in shape or the steriod issues or just taking someone to lightly. With all that he still remains in my top fighters list though.
