Mamby fought in the Cayman Islands in March. It was a sanctioned fight not an exibition. Mamby went 10 rounds and became the oldest fighter to compte at age 60. I was on the card that night. He was a cool guy, real intelligent in and out of the ring.

That is unbelievable. Thanks for the 1st person account. It must be genetics or something it the water to still be able to pass a physical and compete for 10 rounds. The man has only been stopped one time,And out of all the top names it was against string bean hitter Derrel coley no less ??I hope he did it out of passion for the sport as opposed to the need for money though.

Oba Carr was very tough and when he wanted to be he was tough but he was so offensive minded that he would disregard the defense sometimes but he was very tough in the beatings he took against Forrest and Trinidad and De La Hoya aswell.

Quartey KO'd him as well. I think he was the Zab Judah of his time

Carr went to the distance with Quartey, he did take a beating though that was one of Quartey's best fights ever but Carr did have a good 10th and 11th round and even got a knockdown ruled in his favor in the 11th but it was really a slip but he won the round regardless. He took a beating the final minute of the fight though. One of my favorite fights I watch it a lot.
