Naseem Hamed he was only 28 he still had alot to offer and Lennox lewis should have fought Vitali again just to shut him up

Hamed as it turned out was mentally weak and sulked after the loss to Barrera, he is a man of dubious character and showed us all he was no real champion. Weak effort.

He was past his prime and best, his peak was short but blazing!

I don't think he could have offered much more post Barrera though. His comeback was awful. He did seem to be short of the mental stamina needed to stay at the top. And his activity since has proven it. You compare a fighter like Naseem to Barrera and laugh. Hamed got worse as he developed, a comeback would have been scary.

I've posted this before, MAB announced his retirement after returning to Mexico from his fight vs. Daniel Jimenez in which he won his 1st world title.

Yutaka Niida had announced his retirement in '01 but cameback in '03.
Now after loosing to Gonzalez he's announced his retirement. He's only 29 with just 28 fights.

Vicente Saldivar retired twice early because he no longer wanted to live the life of a boxer cameback 2 yrs. later. Retired again and cameback 2 yrs. later.

Correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't Fammo pretty much weary with the sport by that time in his career?

Harada was 26 when he retired although he did have 60+ fights so that def. played a major role.

Re Tery Marsh and Duran, health issues were the reasons there. But Duran was shot anyway.

Fammo was more than a little peeved at the Saldivar decision and yes he was weary of the constant training and fighting, back in the days when fighters had 6-10 fights a year. Fammo like Harada had more than 60 + fights so i guess i can't blame him.
