If I am correct, the ring magazine rated him as the hardest hitter from the HWD of all time and I agree too, with such rooster, Dr Faust deserves that honor, especially as he can still bash down the best of opposition at 37 years of age.

Corrie Sanders looked as if he would be more at home on the golf course,he did not 'look' the part of a legit Heavyweight threat.But he had solid hand speed and was a hard sharp hitter......that was Wlad Klitschko that he sparked out in two round....he came no where close to KOing rock chinned Vitali though.

are u talking about hardest hitting or most exciting? yeah Tyson was probably the most exciting fighter to watch, but I'd prefer to take a dig off him than off V Klit...

There is no doubt that Mike Tyson was indeed the hardest puncher in the heavyweight division ! The one thing I've noticed in the last several years
is no matter what Tyson has done outside of the ring it doesn't change his accomplishments in the ring. It's too bad that people can't admit that. This also includes his ability to almost decapitate his opponents. It wasn't until the last couple of years in his career that his abilities changed. He just simply lost interest in the sport ! Don't forget that this is the man most heavyweights avoided due to fear !

One thing I will never deny Tyson is his power. But harder than Foreman? No chance. Tyson was sparking decent HW fighters (not great), old greats (Larry Holmes) and good LHW's (Mike Spinks).

Big George was smacking ATG's such as Frazier and Norton all over the ring and the only men of that quality Tyson fought were Holyfield and Lewis and though he never really landed his very best stuff on Lennox he did get Evander with some great shots and Evander just stood there. I don't care how great Evander's chin is he wouldn't have stood upto Foreman in the 70's, Hell he struggled with the old man.

Hey I am new but a boxing fan of many years

For the past few years I have concentrated on the heavy weights , over time

By carefully watching videos and TV of great heavy weight fights over the the last century and even into this century of 2009 I am convinced at his best Mike Tyson was both the hardest puncher in heavy weight boxing history. And potentially the greatest of all time, until sadly his money grabbing wife mother in-law and Don King came in and messed up his boxing life

He punched much like the great Joe Louis, short hard and accurate, but with much more power

What people don't remember is he was bigger and stronger than the likes of Sonny Liston, as big as George Foreman in fact, but 100% dynamic muscle

He was the most magnificent physical specimen ever to embrace the boxing arena and it still greatly saddens me that he was never allowed to fulfil his true awesome boxing potential


George Foreman , a really nice guy, also was a very hard puncher maybe the next hardest after Tyson at his very best

Tyson might have had problems with the very tall Foreman and his powerful clubbing punches. Foreman liked fighting shorter opponents and this might have been a factor if both had met at the very best

Alan of South Africa, Muhammed Ali is not deserving of a spot on a list of the hardest hitting heavyweights...sure he beat Foreman and Shavers BUT just because you can punch doesn't mean you can take a punch.

Ali 56 wins 37 KO's
Norton could not even KO Scott LeDoux ...while he has 42 wins and 33 KO's but he never KO'd anyone worth a damn.

Marciano had 49 wins and 43 KO's
Patterson was a light heavyweight and his KO of Ingemar Johannsen was down right SCARY.

As for your comments about Wladimir...he hits harder than Ali ever did.
