What exactly would YOU have done differently? The answer, regardless, is: "NO, YOU WOULD NOT".

Haye fought a brilliant fight. Boxing is only entertainment if you buy the bullcrap the promoters want you to expect... they don't have to get in the ring either. Look at the challenge presented and enjoy the performance instead of thinking you are going to watch a Valuev fight and be entertained.

He could have feinted and stuck the jab in the body more often... but that's nitpicking.
no that's working, he did fuck all from what i've seen and heard, he could have circled away from Valuev's weak jab and used his own left to the body, bang up Valuev's ribs with good left hooks to the body (seeing how his right was hurt), but i guess he did alright coming off of a back injury

Have you not seen the fight? How can you even make realistic comments?

He did what he needed to do to win.... That is the number one aim of being in boxing, and being a fight.. To do what you need to do to win... That keeps boxing exciting at almost every level...

When HW begins to have some dangerous fighters again who are there to rip your head off, the excitement will come back, because that "do what you need to do to win" will become about ripping your opponents head off before he does that to your's...

At the moment, fighters are doing what they need to do to win, and that isn't taking someone's head off.. It's earning points and avoiding getting KO'd... That is just the state of it, and you can respect the fighters for training enough to be able to have it over their opponents.. But until we have some dangerous characters thrown into the mix which force a more urgent brand of boxing at heavyweight, this is what we should expect most of the time... Love it or hate it...

how is it unrealistic? Valuev is only somewhat effective from far, he can't fight inside to save his life, and him being 7'2 gave Haye more than enough body to hack away at, but he didn't, both guys tonight were losers, only Valuev was a bit worse

man what a boring fight, all the talk about Haye bringing excitement to the heavyweight division his output was woeful(as well as his opponent). Haye showed he could land easily enough with his speed so I can't understand why he didn't throw more... won't be bothered to watch this shit again tommorrow! good thing my dodgy box still has the ppv channel and I didn't have to pay for this crap on a positive at least they had a exciting heavy on the undercard...Ruiz

Well if you'd seen the fight and weren't just speculating you'd have seen Valuev had his elbows tucked into the body which left a gap for jabs to the body that Haye landed quite reguarly!

The title of this thead is "Valuev Won That Fight!" I cannot take this seriously at all. Haye won the fight. So what if he didn't win the way someone here thought he should of. That's not the point. The point is that he won and regardless of anybody's oppinion, this thread is completely bogus. -FACT

Haye's a strong guy, Valuev isn't, Haye could have easily done a Cotto/Branco and banged on Valuev's arms and force him to try and attack, giving him more openings, don't see how you can really consider this a huge win, and i've seen most of the fight already, just finished up to round 5 before the Angulo fight, and it's a bigger version of Dirrell/Froch, i'm not saying Haye shouldnt of gotten the win, but he didn't really look impressive in doing it, he looked very average and very beatable from what ive seen so far

Not saying it's a huge win, but Haye is growing into the division and no-one has looked great against Valuev. His size makes him an awkward customer.

Haye did what was needed to beat the Beast. I thought he would have been more aggressive but he got the win by not risking anything and not letting Valuev get close enough to hold him and lean 320lbs onto Haye which would have been detrimental to his fatigue!

No excuse needed, he will get battered plain and simple!

(Still has a punchers chance against Wlad, but zero chance against Vitali)
mainly saying cause Fenster was already making excuses for Haye, saying that if he lost to Valuev it was cause he was too small, now he barely beat Valuev, so wanna know what excuse he's gonna give Haye when he gets beat by the Klitschko's
That wasn't an excuse it was a fact.

I'm a fanboy for stating the obvious?

Let me help you, because I think your hatred for Haye is making you look dumber than you really are.

Ignore the fact that Valuev was fighting Haye (clearly a man you love) and imagine it was Adamek.

    You still following...

Now, if Valuev beat Adamek would it be because he is MUCH bigger than him or much better?
