In an odd way it emphasis's (not to go all rainbows and puppy dogs on ya) a positive voting procedure as opposed to all of the demotions.Keeps the top tier moving and rewards.

Maybe we should require a certain amount of votes to approve it.As well...I think the manager of division should be allowed a bigger vote in matter.

Maybe we should require that the defeated have been ranked a certain length of time for it to be allowed? As to not 'encourage' voting pool members in last minute just prior to a fight.Cynical I know
What do you think about a manager being able to blackball it with a single vote. For example if the vote happened in the super feather division and Cleon didn't think it merited it, it would junk the whole vote, otherwise majority rules.

Also I hear what you are saying about future unintended consequences, and I agree we need a safeguard there as well. Perhaps the safeguard is as follows: "A pool member with a scheduled fight against a ranked member cannot enter the ranks on a vote until after the fight" That would pretty much eliminate that potential problem. This makes sense anyway because if he beats the ranked member he takes his spot.

This is a good rule, I think 2 spots should be the most for an outstanding victory, 1 for a win. Majority vote should decide imo...

I'm good with pool members not entering if they are set to meet a ranked fighter

Default Moving up rule official vote

OK as discussed on the other thread this should be put to an official vote now. Options will be 1-2 place option, 1 place option only, no change

A vote for has the following implications

A fighter that is ranked and beats a lower ranked fighter will trigger
a vote to see if the winner of that fight moves up one spot.

    1. Manager's vote still constitutes 2 votes in these cases.
    2. A pool member with a fight scheduled against a ranked fighter can not enter the rankings by vote.
    3. Majority vote determines if it passes
    4. This vote cannot be used to determine a championship, any championship vote must follow our existing rules.
    5. This vote will be further categorized into either a 1-2 place option or a 1 place option.

A vote against has the following implications

    The rules remain unchanged.

    Default Pool cleaning idea

I have an idea for keeping the standard of fighters in the pool more accountable.

Instead of 'Date In' the category would change to 'Verified'

The verified date would give 6 months that a fighter gets to stay in the pool.

We would go through the weight classes one per week and see who has a verified date longer than 6 months and vote to see if they are worth keeping or worth dropping.

I'll use the heavyweights as an example.

As you can see here, Denis Boystov and Alexander Dimintrenko have dates older than six months so we would vote whether to keep them in the pool or not. If we decided to keep them in the pool we would give them a 'verified' date of when the vote closes otherwise they would be removed to unranked status. If there is a week that noone in the weight class is up for a vote, we would move to the next weight class in this case Cruiserweight. Regular rules of voting to see if they stay in because of a loss etc. would still apply.

Any feedback and opinion is welcome.

Default Should the 'Date In' be changed to 'Verified' on pool members?

As discussed in a previous thread, I would like to change the 'Date In' to 'Verified' and begin a weekly rotation of keeping up with the pools in all the weight classes.

    Default Manager Vote Change

This is a vote relating to a change in polls for manager votes. Me and Killer discussed this last week as a way to improve the manager vote system.

The proposed new system would work by the manager vote working as a typical vote does i.e. an option can be put up for a fighter to remain or drop 1-3 places. We would forego a 'drop to the pool' option unless the majority were in favour of that.

However, there would also be stipulations. Once a manager puts that vote up, he can not then propose a manager vote in that division for the next 2 months. Additionally, he can not propose a vote for the purpose of that same issue for the next 4 months. This is so people can't consistently try to demote someone.

I'd also recommend that you guys try to make use of your manager votes as it is.

I like the idea but I think timeframes are going to be difficult to deal with. I think if someone has an issue they should just bring it up. The voting can decide...
