There's no way in hell Floyd Mayweather Jr would beat Thomas Hearns, i like both fighters but come on lets be real here. Floyd Mayweather Jr isn't at his best at Welterweight. Where as Thomas Hearns was and at Jr Middleweight aswell.
Thomas Hearns has all the advantages. Reach, Power, Height, ETC. There handspeed is equal and no way would the shoulder roll work, vs Thomas Hearns.
He would just pot shot Floyd Mayweather Jr, at distance with his jab and the occasional big right hand. The only way Floyd Mayweather Jr could win, is if he come forward. Which i doubt he would.
But if he did he would more than likely get KO'ed, Floyd Mayweather Jr is a very good Welterweight. But Thomas Hearns is a great Welterweight, he outboxed SRL twice for crying out loud.
The fight would look very much like the Wilfredo Benitez fight, where Floyd Mayweather Jr goes the distance. But is outpointed clearly but he doesn't get dominated, he just isn't aggressive enough and is too defensive. Just like Wilfredo Benitez was.

Better than Ali? Better than Ray Robinson? Let me make this clear, I grew up in a tough neighborhood and on a dare I walked into a gym and threw on the gloves and I loved boxing. I did it for a short while because as I got better the opponents hit harder, moved faster and had only one thing on their mind, knock this guy's head off. My point is that the old time boxers did not pick and choose. Floyd does and he is good in the ring and he makes money. Floyd has fought quite a few opponents that were on the way out and so did other champions but he hasn't been in a situation wherein he can say that those punches hurt or he hurt me bad. By the way does he go out and buy his toilet paper or does he get it delivered by the truckload every week? P.S. Floyd had not fought enough or fought good enough opponents to earn the title great. He's got the tools but better than some of the all time greats? He's got to do it the old fashion way to get that title, he's got to earn it.

My buddy texted me today sayin he saw Mayweather on the Jim Rome show sayin that he is better than Ali.
Floyd seems to be getting a rise out of people who don't follow boxing by saying crap like this.
But boxing fans know he's full of $hit and Sugar Ray Leonard, let alone Robinson, would have knocked Floyd out without much trouble.
"You knocked him down...now how bout you try knockin me down ?"
People need to not get riled up by Floyd's remarks. Clearly Mayweather says things to get attention. You could be damn sure that he, his uncle, and his father...all know deep down that he does not belong in the same sentence as Robinson, Ali, and some of the other all time greats. As for Hearns...Floyd would get his butt beat all the way back to Michigan if he fought the Hitman. People sometime need to look back at history to appreciate the talent of certain era's and the willingness of those fighters to face each other. You are talking about a time when you had Hearns, Hagler, Leonard, and Duran...FOUR LEGENDS. None of this is to say Floyd isn't a great fighter...but he simply doesn't have the resume to back the BS that comes out of his mouth. But you have to give him credit for playing the villain well...he sells fights and tickets. But, unfortunately for him...no amount of money will ever make him regarded as a better fighter than many of the greats from the past.

I was no fan of SRL but he beat the piss out of pbf. no contest.
Agreed on Duran...PBF would not of known how to deal with him...Actually I doubt PBF would have taken a fight with Duran because he was so dangerous in so many ways..
As for the taking out of his game with the talk...Floyd puts on an act...Duran really was a mean MOFO!!!!...Floyd would have tried that bullshit with his hands on Duran like he did Shane there would have been a fight right there on stage..Not just some shoving either..
