You must be joking, he had one of the best Heavyweight jabs of the modern era. Infact he outjabbed Lennox Lewis, so he must of been able to box a bit.
Mercer out jabbed Holyfield as well but he definitely did not avoid punches and relied on his chin too much as a defence.

What about tree stump John Brown? Tenacious as they come, think his chins finally been cracked though, still fighting?

Ray did what a lot of guys with tough chins and a good punch do they believe in it too much...Then what happens is after they are stopped once they seem to not be able to handle the abuse too much

Think it was his conditioning to. Best he boxed was Holyfield and Lewis but sometimes his own worst enemy. Just rewatched that scrap with Cooper last week, great fight!

He's done now but Lacy ? Thick headed.

Bert Cooper...There is a name I have not heard in a while...That was a hell of a scrap....Speaking of conditioning...Cooper was a giuy who could have done something if he coulkd stay off the drugs and shit...He was a decent HW who allowed himself to be a bum

Totally. At cruiser he was a beast and even in shape hvy. Always overlooked was his tricky cross armed defense at times, rare. Had a way of "L" ing his arms and whipping hooks off quick. Always liked him, just a character but pulled some rank stuff in ring too, quit in a few. Always gets dogged for quit vs Foreman but that body shot was absolutley brutal! Last I heard he was starting 'comeback' Prior to that he was mugged badly by a couple of guys with ball bats!

Bert dressed like Tyson in the ring and fought like Frazier, think that was his manager at one stage but gave up on him because of his bad habits.

Really? I did not hear about that....Yesw the shot from George was brutal people forget that even a second go around of Foreman was a brutal brutal puncher....The man could just paralyze a guy when he caught them flush.....I hope he does not comeback I mean it would be a shame to see him used as a punching bag

Remember Dwight Qawi taking Foremans punches until the body punching started.

Yeah but Qawi was superhuman in the abuse that guy could absorb...Foreman and a young Holyfield after a svere back and forth bout are the only 2 to stop him

How about some of these (no particular order) over the past

    Marvin Hagler
    Julio Cesar Chavez
    Muhammad Ali
    Dwight Muhammad Qawi
    George Foreman
    Larry Holmes
    Mustapha Hamsho
    George Chuvalo
    Khosai Galaxy
    Jake La Motta
    Rocky Marciano
    Carlos Monzon
    Kid Gavilan

That's enough concrete there to build a dam!

I know that Robingson was never able to put him flat (If memory serves me right anyhow)...And Ray gave Jake a few beatings...Chuvalo I always thought of as an iron chin I mean the guy fought the shit out of the best hwts in the greatest era of HW boxing.....I could go on all night about those guys mentioned

    Arturo Gatti
    Micky Ward
    Miguel Cotto
    Manny Paquiao
    Diego Coralles
    Luis Castillo
and my ultimate pick for this list

Billy Collins Jr (RIP), who stayed up on his feet for nine rounds against an opponent with plastered gloves.
