I saw a few of Benn and Eubanks fights live including their first fight against each other. Eubank V Watson II and Benn V McClellan - three of the best fights I have ever seen.
Hmmm ... Eubank liked to set the pace and take breathers during rounds and sometimes for whole rounds. Watson knew that to beat him you would have to make him work harder than he wanted too - every minute of every round. Would Jones have done that ? I still think Jones wins but he does not stop Eubank in fact I don't see him scoring a knock down. Benn hits like a truck and couldn't do it in two fights (forget the knockdown in the first fight it was more a slip). Jones on points comfortably but not by a landslide. Eubank has always been underrated in my opinion - the comment made about his understanding of space and distance is spot on. You really had to see him fight live to appreciate how clever he could be.
Jones V Benn I'd be honest I'd only give Nige an outside punchers chance. Although he showed impressive ability to take punshment against the G - Man he was caught and hurt a few times in fights by fighters not considred heavy handed. I have a vision of something simmilar to the Watson fight with Benn attempting to take Jones head off frantically early on - his only chance or he gets outboxed. Jones rides the storm and stops a stamina drained Benn in 5 or 6 rounds.
