    Should of never came back.

Mayweather, Pacquiao and Senchenko. Might be the only time you see them 3 names mentioned together

I say Ricky should just drown his sorrows in hookers, booze, and drugs. Feel sorry for him? Isn't he getting millions for this fight which is on PPV? He can also drown it in the millions he made.

Even more proof on how soft Hatton has gotten. Apparently that's a bad thing now

A truly pathetic comment. You must be a poor, poor man - depleted in wealth and character.

But anyways, I'm actually glad this happened sooner rather than later. It had to, I still worry that the man could be dead within 12 months he really needs people round him.

I'm glad he found some peace and I hope he stays positive and looks at all his accomplishments through his great career. Good luck to him!

Father time gets everyone in the end and inactivity for a fighter at his age definitely has the fat lady singing sooner rather than later. Now all the Hatton nuthuggers know what Tszyu went through at age 36 coming back having one fight in 30 months and facing their boy in his hometown with his crowd behind him and fellow countryman as a referee conveniently forgetting the rules of boxing for the night !

Jesus, Ricky Hatton didnt cry this much and he just got beat up by a guy he thought he'd wipe the floor with.

    Let it go already.
When God said to the both of us "Which one of you wants to be Sugar Ray?" I guess I didnt raise my hand fast enough

Oh it's been let go a long time ago, just a reminder of some of the hysteria that went on here on this forum about Hatton way back in 2005 and 06 with little perspective taken into account. Hatton was a very good fighter, i liked him, but like Tszyu time wins in the end.

I just saw the KO and got 2 things from it #1 that ref was such a homer, he gave Ricky time to rest as he was fixing his glove and #2 Sechenko nailed that hook a few times to weaken him up.

Not the same. Hatton was taken out in a one on one fight. It was just him and Senchenko. Poor Tszyu wasn't treated with the same respect. It took the tag team of Hatton and Paris to take him out

Well if you want to distort the facts the other way, Hatton was Tszyu's 4th fight in 37 months, Hatton had zero fights in 42 months!! Tszyu's other 3 fights in that period he destroyed the 3 guys and the last fight was arguably his best. Don't remember any signs of decline from Tszyu, don't remeber the alcoholism, the drugs or the 75 pound weight gain!!

It's not even just money and ego, if it is something you love, are good at and are lucky enough to be able to do for a living it must be bewildering and heartbreaking when that ends. If you are a painter, or writer, or filmmaker, actor, musician etc age does not drop a roadblock in front of your dreams. I don't care what it says about me but Ricky in pieces saying "I'm not a failure " after being stopped choked me up. Thats a man facing his own limits and by extension mortality. Hopefully he can find fulfillment vicariously by promoting, training or managing some future world champs.
