Do not let success go to your head and do not let failure get to your heart.
Lol.
All Philosopher seems to do is take ages to ask any question because he is scouring other websites copying and pasting!
Flintoff would take Wlad a few rounds as it would take Wlad a few rounds to get some fire in his belly.
Flintoff eagerness and fast hands would make Wlad nervous and it will be corrie sanders part 2 all over again..
Thank you for the post! This is why boxing fans remain the best sport fans, that sound more like investment impresario's than jock followers.
I'd like to add a few pieces to that puzzle, as responsed to coments so aptly expressed.
When Witherspoon was omitted as prospect of the year as a rookie, a quote appeared in KO magazine, saying that Tim had bypassed the honor because he wasn't a prospect, he "was (already) a contender." He used the cross-armed defense masterfully early on, though (rightfully recognized) he suffered discipline problems.
His official mark seemed ridiculous to contend for highest heavyweight honors (vs Holmes), but I believe his clips mention merit as having the best heavyweight overhand right since Earnie Shavers ( may the ghost of Stanley Ketchell forgive).
Snipes is respected by Teddy Atlas, and that jab, jab, right hand combo he threw at Holmes was startling . That is good enough for me. He almost took down the Holmes-Cooney event (it wasn't just a boxing match, was it?). He repeated the shot against a streaking Berbick, and always came in the ring in condition.
Holmes went through his first "Current champ vs the greats comparison," in 1981 The rational by that pundit was that Holmes would lose to the Spinks of that year, as he was expected to get better with experience, which he didn't. The writer did go so far as to say that in his peak, Holmes would have outlasted the "vampyre," Spinks.
