... let's stop all of this BS now. If you feel Rios has a shot at winning one round, at least, then you need to have your head examined.
Pac is going to destroy this lad. Totally!

Total mismatch. Unless Pac has REALLY gone downhill since the KO, this should be a massacre.
People compare it to Margarito, but in reality Marg was a legit light middleweight. Brandon is a light welterweight. I don't think he'll have the bulk to stand up to Pac's onslaught.
On paper and a prime Manny I'd agree. I rewatched FNF last night and tbh what I saw was somewhat a shell of a man. A man who is trying desperately to hang on and I hate to say it cash out. Rios on the other hand seemed confident and surprisingly quiet in his role.
Rios won't get out of the way of the punches. I think it's clear Marquez added some power to his pop from his "special" trainer.
Pac destroys this kid. As you said, unless he has gone waaaayyyy downhill, Rios doesn't have the power nor the speed to hit Pac, neither does he have the speed or skill to get out of the way.
We need to put that Marquez "win" into context- up until that point, Pac was dominating the fight. He got hit with a good shot.
If you and I fought 4 times, better believe- if I have the passion and pride as Mexican fighters do, like Marquez does- then I would win, at least, one of them. Marquez won that night- but Pac still owns the series.

We have no idea how that KO will have affected Manny, but that's about the only thing Rios has going for him imo. I think people may be overlooking the possibility that Rios is already dented up as well. Watch the first Alvarado fight and then the second, it's not the same guy.
Speculation on that aside, yes this is a tremendous mismatch.
Rios KO7
I thought the 2nd fight was a more clear cut win than the KO. I was fuming after that fight.
I don't think it is bullshit to assume Rios might take this. Pacquiao to me strikes me as a man who is looking to cash out from boxing. I wouldn't be shocked if he was gun shy after what Marquez did to him. Rios hits hard. It has happened to better fighters, no reason it won't happen here. Everyone's ability duanes at some time.
Pacquiao is shot. And Marquez is the one who shot him. People still talking like Pacquiao is still the same destroyer he once was. He's not. He's a fishing boat now. Not a destroyer. He's been like that since he got off the juice. You gotta go all the way back to the Cotto fight for his last stoppage win. And that was more of Cotto quitting than a stoppage. So really you gotta go back the near decapitation of Ricky Hatton for his last real stoppage. Clearly his power isn't the same.
Rios hasn't struggled to make 140 to the extent he was struggling to make 135. But he still has struggled. The move to 147 (which really should be his natural weight) will be a good one for him. He'll be stronger there. Rios also has the hunger Pacquiao is missing. He's really gonna be keyed up for this fight
There is a question mark hanging over every single one of Pac's decisions, you can't really argue with a knockout and I'd take a questionable draw, two robberies and a KO win any day.
You better believe that the only reason Pac was winning the 4th fight on the cards was because Marquez's gameplan wasn't to win the fight on points and get KO'd again, it was to hang tough, plant his feet and take it away from any corrupt officials.
You're right, he worked on strength and power in training because that was what complimented the gameplan, any accusations coming from Pac fanboys about PEDs are as ironic as they are hypocritical.
People act is if Pac did nothing in the Marquez fight, it looked like his was kicking Marquez ass.
I see, unless something really is mentally wrong with Pac, a spectacular knockout as Rios follows this guy around the ring thinking that he can walk through punches that he will not walk through. I think that Pac will hit him from a weird angle and he'll never see it coming.
If Rios can walk down and knock Pac out, it's time to concentrate on politics.
Up one round is hardly kicking ones ass. The fight was being fought on JMMs terms. It is no secret neither fighter wanted a decision. Pac has not KOed anyone in years, factor in the fact JMM trained for the KO. JMM's entire fight plan was to use Pac's aggressive style, poor defense and rocks for brain to KTFO of Pac. Post fight phrase repeated over and over by JMM "inteligencia". JMM has always had it and combined strength for desired result.

No kidding. That was hardly an ass kicking. I admit after the first knockdown, Pac was getting the better of the exchanges but never to a point of real danger because Marquez was getting his shots in as well..
Marquez baited him into being aggressive and was setting him up for the right hand..
