Mayweather has announced this is happening the night before his fight with Maidana. My feeling is that Lara is taking it as he's been told he may get a fight with Mayweather in the future. I don't think it'll ever happen, but if that's what he was told it was a smart marketing ploy by Floyd to get his guy the fight.

Guess they missed the result of not thinking styles through with Trout. I just think viewing this one will give new meaning to dreadful. Lara should not have to jump through this hoop in hopes of Mayweather, its empty.Originally Posted by bzkfn

Floyd deliberately chose this fight to make Lara look boring and then he can say the fans would not want to watch a stinker.

I think you're onto something there. All that momentum off a solid war with Angulo recedes into Trout and Smith snore fest. Smith has zero business facing Lara other than being "Mayweathers first champion" and falling in his arms and sobbing after he won it.
You need a bleach shower with steel wool just thinking about this match.

Can you imagine Floyd/Lara brother? Lara/Trout was bad enough. @bzkfn is right. This is to get his manic contender friend another payday.

I supported smith in the past but his performance in the ring is terrible and he has no snap whatsoever on his punches and i see this as his last fight in the spotlight.
