Never seen Rousey fight but watched an interview where she was sat with Mike Tyson and when asked something along the lines of did Mike inspire her in any way seeing as he was such a great fighter, she was quite dismissive.

What she forgets is she is only fighting UFC fiters, not the best in the world. There may be other fighters outside of the UFC that could beat her.

Well the UFC is the big league, and the top fighters end up there, so it's a good filter to have.

Women's MMA is just coming into it's own now, but Ronda has beaten a who's who of WMMA. She's coming off of a quick KO win over a Olympic silver medalist in wrestling, so she is fighting a lot of tough girls with real athletic credibility.

Ann Wolfe is a scary woman in the boxing ring, but in MMA or a real fight she wouldn't stand a chance. Ronda would take her down and tear her arm off. Ronda is a legit beast who throws around and taps out men much bigger than her in the gym.

If you're a pure boxer, meaning your only weapons are your two fists, and you're fighting someone who can punch, kick, knee, elbow, and also grapple on a world class level, you're going to get fucked up.

That's the reason I didn't hook up with her, I was afraid I'd disappoint her and possibly lose an arm. Lol

It's easy, for some people, to dismiss Rousey as a pampered?female MMA specialist who's promoted simply because she is a woman.
In reality, Rousey is a legitimate badass and deserves her place at the top of MMA's 135# female fighters.
Are there female MMA fighters out there that can beat her? Probably. Will she lose someday? Yes, if she keeps fighting.
I like her and hope she keeps kicking ass for a long time.

For women's MMA its Invicta. UFC is just now working on their 2nd weight class for women. Invicta has many. Rousey is the lone superstar for women though. And of course the UFC can and probably will use its power/money to trump/buyout the other leagues at some point.

I love Invicta, I think Knapp does a great job, but they really are only a farm league for the UFC. I don't know if you heard, but the UFC swooped up a fuck load of their talent, including one of my favorites Tecia Torres.

The UFC is where the money is, and the cream rises to the top eventually.

I never heard that but I expected them to work on taking over women's MMA at some point. The brand name is like royalty to fighters even when the Fertitta brothers bought the organization they were adamant on keeping the brand name going because they know how fighters think. Hence, you have the UFC being glorified or deemed "where the money is at" even though they average paying out only 4% of their total revenue to the entire payroll of fighters. But the women's scale is difficult to compare. Invicta doesn't release its numbers and outside of Rousey the other women's pay is paltry. Carmouche, Tate, and McMann for their title fights against Rousey respectively made 12K, 28K, and 16K. Kind of sad when you realize this is before taxes, trainer/etc. fees and they can only fight 2 or 3 times a year. Tito said the Invicta offer to Cyborg was more money than the UFC's offer but they signed in hopes of fighting Rousey.
