This fight is a formality and a showcase fight for casual fans to see Brook
Looking at the fight itself I think it should be entertaining. How would you Brits feel if Rios actually won.
Its a fair matchup, Rios has shown his limitations, but he is sturdy and comes to fight. It's hardly Mayweather/Baldomir matchup bad.
Baldomir was the WBC champ at 147. He had just beat Zab Judah to win that belt and had defended it by KOing Arturo Gatti in 9 rounds.
Floyd had just moved up from 140 and had won the IBF's 147 title by beating Zab in his most recent fight. Floyd has always been a WBC fighter so of course he would fight Baldomir for it.
Don't try to discredit Floyd for fighting Baldomir, he did it for the title. He had just beat Zab (who was the previous WBC belt holder), so Mayweather would have had the strap had Zab not lost to Baldomir... And the previous WBC title holder was Cory Spinx who Mayweather would have beat easy. So no bullshit Miles. Mayweather fought Baldomir for the title.
Now what has Rios done in his career aside from showing he can get the shit beat out of himself by little 135 & 140 pounders all the while failing to make weight in 2 or his 3 title fights?!
Rios' poorly trained chubby little ass is going to get beat by Brook and badly! He's only moved up in weight because too lazy to train and has happily embraced his role as "tough gatekeeper who is easy to beat".

Oh come on now, Baldomir was a gimme and based on one of Zabs many off nights. It was a feeble matchup.
Floyd had just moved up in weight and was challenging the current champion for his WBC title.
I suppose you'd have waited until a better fighter fought Baldomir, beat him, and then challenge that fighter for the WBC title instead? @Gandalf
Give me a break Richey! You can surely see the difference between a lucky easy fight for a title versus choosing a ridiculous mismatch as an optional title defense.
Floyd fought Baldomir because he was offered a career high payday - $8million - which was the same amount he was refusing to fight Margarito for.
Why fight a dangerous opponent for the same money you make against an easier one? Business. Simple.
3-Time SADDO PREDICTION COMP CHAMPION.
I'm just giving the facts. Floyd would back me up. He's a prizefighter, he's not fighting tough cunts when he can fight lesser tough cunts for the same money. You can't really argue with that, it makes perfect sense.
(forget that silly WBC title, Baldomir was the lineal champ after beating Zab, not that it mattered to Floyd)
3-Time SADDO PREDICTION COMP CHAMPION.
Yes, fighting smarter has always been one of Floyd's strengths but he has held the WBC title in every weight division in which he's fought.
It was the first belt he won (at 130lbs), and it was one of the titles he defended against Pacquiao.
As you can see in the pictures... He seems quite fond of the green.
Floyd made a business decision not to fight Margarito the more dangerous fighter so that he could get the same purse, have no dealings with Arum and for the more respected title. The fight itself was boring and Floyd was roundly booed for his negative and safety first tactic.
Things have not changed much.
