The good thing is that we get away from the mayweather sweepstakes and hopefully get the best fighting the best. It's weird how such a good fighter can hold a sport back (not money wise but good matches wise). There will be a gaping hole at welter that must be filled. I'm excited about that.

I'm sad because for me, mayweather is really the only fighter left from when I started watching boxing. I consistently starting watching it in the year 2001 and there are still fighters who are fighting that were once good (like Jones or Mosley), but mayweather has literally been a big name in boxing since I started watching. So its kind of an end of an era for me. From now on, I will see when people begin their careers and see them end it.

So I'm happy to see him go but kind of sad because of nostalgia at the same time.
