    Two problems though,

Mayweather can stick to the gameplan he followed from round 6 on and he can win a wide decision.

But if he comes out trying to knock Judah out again he will have some problems.

And since Juan Diaz probably won't be on the card, I see no reason why Judah can't go and get Ronnie Shields again.
well this will not be one of those cases. Floyd will devestate Zab far worse than the last fight which is close as zab will ever get to him.

Fight will never happen fellas. Floyd doesn't give a damn about this belt (it was a paper belt to begin with). He'd vacate just as soon as fight another rematch to a bout that no one wants to see. Margarito, Baldomir, and of course Hatton are the fighters Floyd will step into the ring with.

If they want to strip Floyd then fine, but make him fight the winner of Gatti v Baldomir for the strap at least!!

Zab has been thrown in the bin let him earn his shot by fighting Tony in July.. actually that wouldnt work either because Tony isnt ranked by them.. even though he kicked the sh1t out of Kermit Cintron last April who is ranked number 5!!

If Mayweather vacated the belt it would show he has integrity.

But then we remember Floyd Mayweather picked Judah FOR that belt and you realise that Mayweather cares more about belts then his legacy. Or he would have fought Baldomir.

Floyd has never vacated a title in his life, and what better way then to get an easy title defense(in his eyes) and defending his title since he already "beat" Judah. Just like when he beat Castillo he will take this rematch. And you know what Mayweather's excuse will be "Floyd Mayweather never ducks or dodges nobody.. Pretty boy Floyd is the best fighter in the world and I'm out to prove that every night, they say he gave me a tough fight, and you know me, I don't duck or dodge nobody so I will prove to you that this will be easy work."

If Floyd vacates his belt it will be what Arum wants to do and not what Floyd wants to do.

Here's Zab's tuneup if Floyd vacates the title.

    Zab Judah vs. (some guy)

For the NOW VACANT IBF Title

then Judah wins and becomes IBF Champ again, whoopty fukin do!!!

But Mayweather now fights Margarito and Hatton(If he even does or doesn't)

And you know what Zab's missed out on, all he has is a "belt" but Mayweather would have a legacy.

So vacating the belt and taking the stance is what Floyd could do for his legacy.

But this order of a rematch hurts Judah more then it does Floyd.

Judah had opportunity to fight Margarito, and Baldomir or Gatti or Hatton or Collazo. While Mayweather was deciding who to fight.

Lets say Mayweather picked to fight Margarito.

This would have given Zab opportunity to fight The Hatton vs. Collazo winner(winning that fight would put him in the serious picture ESPECIALLY if he beat Hatton), or even better the Gatti Baldomir winner(and if he had won that fight he would be back atop the 147 pounds) and then Mayweather would HAVE to fight him again and Mayweather probably would have beaten margarito and be IBF and WBO Champ while Zab is now WBC WBA Champ and Undisputed once again. Then you can have a true Unification bout between the two in which either fighter wins is THE MAN no matter what and legacy is cemented for either of them.

Which is why I am PISSED at the IBF right now. They had no reason to do this, since SO MANY THINGS could have happened if they'd just LEFT THIS ALONE!!!

tony isnt ranked because he holds the wbo belt and fighters who already hold a piece of the championship arent ranked.

thx for pointing that out gordo

I hope PBF vacates and when he addresses the press he says the reason why is because Zab purposely hit him in the nuts and risked giving him brain damage with a blatant rabbit punch once he started taking a beating and he would of given him the rematch but a thug such as Zab Judah doesn't deserve the payday!! Now let some c+ level Welterweight finish off Zabs career while I move on to greatness.

When is the fight? It's a good idea to have a few of these fights. Judah could win maybe 1 out of 3 matches.

it'll never happen. floyd will definitely abandon the ibf title. more likely that he'll just take margarito's strap--which is more meaningful anyway, considering judah had no business bringing that thing in to the pbf match in the first place.

but here's the most ridiculous part:

if PBF does indeed tell the IBF to go fuck themselves, and doesn't agree to waste his time with this unnecessary rematch, ZAB WILL REGAIN THE IBF CHAMPIONSHIP BY LOSING HIS LAST 2 FIGHTS!!!!!

If it makes dollars it makes sense... according to PBF. So my guess is he will take the rematch. I wonder how much Zab will get paid in the rematch?

I don't know. That's a reason entirely independent of what the IBF is doing. If you're saying he'll do it because of the money, then you'd have to have thought two days ago that this rematch would happen too. Did you?

I don't think he gives a damn about keeping the IBF strap. He won it, he can legitimately claim to have been "a champion" of the division, and that's all he needs for his legacy. Besides, if he sticks around for long at 147, he'll pick up another strap pretty quickly.

Your last question is a good one though. You'd have to expect Zab would get less this time, right? Maybe 750,000 or 500,000?

What are you talking about? Judah and Baldomir each had one belt, and everyone thought that Baldomir's was more legit. If PBF cared more about belts than his legacy, obviously he would have fought Baldomir instead of Judah. He fought Judah because people thought the Baldomir loss was a fluke, and people had been saying for years that Judah was the one guy who was as fast as him plus threw a bigger punch, and might actually be able to give him problems. I remember people on this forum just a year ago going pretty much 50-50 on who would win a zab/pbf fight. no one was saying that about Baldomir.

Uh, except for every single title he's held before this one, given that he's moved up in weight a few times (which he's been hinting he'll do from 147 as well).

    This statement I agree with.

Judah does not deserve another crack, the first fight was nowhere near close enough to even think anything would turn out differently and second,Floyd will most likely take the fight. He has the belt on his record, now it's all about the money although first time around,it did decent numbers 350,000,second time,I don't expect anywhere near that much. What also helped was the good undercard, don't think they will be able to recreate that, all in all a waste of time. If Floyd's a true warrior he will give the belt back, tell Judah he had his chance and give Margarito his shot.

Did you mean to say he WON'T likely take the fight?

No,I think he will take it but I don't think it will do anywhere near as well. Hey Floyd says if it makes money,it makes sense,so give him $5mill for a match he knows he can win and he won't turn it down! He has the alphabet soup title on his record,no-one can take that away.
