Not the fight i expected and to be honest it wasn't as good as the Hype suggested with the only real trading going off late on in rounds but Cotto is hard as nails and seems to have developed a granite chin from somewhere
He reminds me of Lamotta the way he ploughs forward and bangs the body
Fair play Cotto you done me proud.
A true Champion.
Would love to see Hatton v Cotto maybe next year.
Anyone else think Mosley looked drained at the weight![]()
good fight, enjoyed it,
i had it a draw though.
A Draw
Nowhere near imo!!
Wasn't a patch on Calzaghe v Kessler either.
Didn't have that WOW factor for me.
Shane won the 3,4 and the last 4 rounds IMO out right.
Cotto did leave a bigger impression on me on the round she won, but shane won 6 in my book. so a draw.
First off Ortiz and Margarito looked great, thats the Margarito I love to watch. Secondly Casamayor lost that fight easy with the lnockdown in the first. That was a bullshit robbery, he should have took an easier fight after the year off, he lost and looked rusty as hell. Third major props to Cotto, even tho I love Shane, he actually got outboxed in this one. Cotto has a good jab all of a sudden. That impressed me as well as his power he rocked Shane and was rocked as well. I do think the body shots caught up to him in the tenth, if it was a 15 rounder Shane takes him out from the bodywork. Was a great fight tho props to both it could easily have been called a draw or SD. Im mainly pissed because I had Mosely ko10 in the comp and it was looking good there for a second...Damn you WelshDevilRob!
No. I put "I told you" cause a few weeks back I told him that everything that was happening to Casa was oh! so familiar to what happened to Margarito prior to the Williams fight. I also told him I wouldn't be surprised if he lost. VD kept saying that nobody wanted to fight Casa and he was being ducked add that to that fact that Casa had been inactive for about a year and that's what happened to Margarito.Originally Posted by wacko3205

Man, I don't think drinking and watching late night boxing in the winter is the thing for me...I woke up about 10 minutes ago and have just read through this thread. It was dark when I went to bed, and it's dark again when I woke up. Yuck.
Anyhow, I agree with the majority of posters in that Casamayor looked dreadful and seemed to have lost that one by three or four rounds. However, with the main event, I remember Cotto having the best of it early doors, but I think I may have done a Jean-Marc Mormeck and gassed out just too early in the evening, because the second half of the fight is a blur and I didn't even remember the result till i checked it on boxrec.
Anyhow, I'll have another look tonight and see where I had them.
Agree. Cotto use to boxed going back all the time. Watch bazan or maussa fights. By the way Cotto nor Mosley were hurt at any time in the fight. Please guys stop believing every utter BS comments from Lampley or the others, they are not always right.Originally Posted by El Gamo

Cotto didn't run like a scolded dog, he actually boxed well the last four rounds, he outboxed Shane.
And you usually like boxers, if it was Derrick Gainer or Zab you'd say he boxed and moved effectively.
And CC Wack.
I didn't think it was a great fight, a good one though. Two very good fighters.
Kinda can't help but like Mosley even though I'm not a big fan though. Definitely a classy guy.
Margarito looked sharp to me. Who knows, maybe it was just lesser opposition.
Casa was unwatchable. Horrible.
The Ortiz punch did look a little funny, the way it kind of hit the side of Maussa's face. But it was a clean punch and Maussa didn't see it.
Oumafan trying mean again? I agree though,Ma,I have not read ANYWHERE that Cotto ran like a scolded dog. Nowhere. Ouma,Tony would have ripped anyone apart fighting like that. The man did what he said he would do,few fighters do that..He came out, started early, now if he can do that v Williams, get that title back and KTFO everyone at 147.Originally Posted by OumaFan

Since you take the time to post on a boxing message board I have to assume you know better than that. He blasted out an old blown-up LW fringe contender. Nothing more, nothing less.Originally Posted by El Gamo
Yeh maybe....there's has to be reason why his mouth was wide open from around the 4th round.Originally Posted by Smashup
Maybe Cotto caught him with a few decent body shots?
Could have also been the weigh....i just don't think Mosley was all there physically for whatever reason.
And yeh it wasn't as exciting as Calzaghe - Kessler.....not for me anyway.
