IMO, The Marshall Mathers LP could possibly be THE greatest album ever.
It's that good.

Now is 'Stan' the greatest vid. ever? Not sure about that but it is one of the best I've seen.
Lyrically I think "The Way I am" is one of the greatest songs ever written.

Marshall Mathers LP was without a doubt Em's greatest effort. Amazing CD.

D'Angelo is awesome. If you liked him, listen to J Dilla Donuts. J Dilla is probably the most influential hip hop producer of all time and he was the man on the boards behind a lot of Tribe's stuff, and he had a profound influence on D'Angelo. Dilla died last year and it was only then when people really realized how special he was.

But there have been some REALLY good CD's in the last 4 or 5 years, just slept on.

Late Registration - Kanye West (honestly, this is one of those that never gets old)
Be - Common
Things Fall Apart - The Roots
True & Livin' - Zion I
The Minstrel Show - Little Brother (Pretty much everything by Little Brother is AMAZING. Phonte could be the best rapper ever when it's all said and done imo)
Reflektion Eternal - Train of Thought
Power In Numbers - Jurassic 5
Deltron 3030 - Del The Funky Homosapien
Mood Muzik 2 - Joe Budden (best mixtape of all time imo, unbelievable stuff)

None may feature the raw lyricism of Em (except Budden's which is ALL lyrics basically) but all are great on the music end. I would definitely suggest picking these up, especially Budden. Don't judge him off of his album, that's not Budden so much as it is Def Jam. Try like all hell to get Mood Muzik 2 I absolutely guarantee you won't regret it. The lyrics in that one are nothing short of jaw dropping and while he doesn't have the same intensity of Em, the mixtape is awesome. It is what it's called, mood music. Not exactly the type of music you bang in your car, but that one right there has gotten me through many a nights alone on the computer posting on Saddo's. Listening to it is really an awesome experience. I've never listened to an album all the way through at the end, and then sat back and thought "wow." That's what I did with this one.

Get past the goofy skits, annoying DJ On Point brands and you have something that could have EASILY been a commercial album imo. Lyrical masterpiece.

He ain't passed last I read on Rolling Stone about 2 months agon he was gonna serve some hard time for possesion of Drugs (Cocaine) a large amount apparently but I didn't follow up on it or haven't heard anything since....

Cause from the ones you listed I bought Train of thought, Be, Black Star and Deltron.
Kanye I like some of his stuff.

I also have Like Water For Chocolate and J5.
I heard a few of Buddens tracks but found nothing special (call me crazy)
Even veteran rappers like Jay-Z, Diddy (if you consider him), Nelly, Fat Joe, Ja Rule..... They have 1 or 2 good songs but thats about it I;m looking for a really good ALBUM full album and I ain't seen one since (aside from the more Hip-Hop ones from Common or Talib)
Probably Kanyes album has been the best since now that I think about it....
