Nah, It wasn't bullshit ... last three rounds oscar faded. very close
The boos are ringing around the MGM Grand as Floyd takes a split decision.
First card was 115-113 for Oscar, Second was 116-112 and 115-113 was the card that sprung it for Floyd. I couldn't split them, but Floyd's strong finish was very good, so I won't argue with that results.
Floyd says: "He was rough, he was tough, but he couldnt beat pretty boy floyd tonight. If you check the punch stats then you'll see that I out punched him and outboxed him. The was a bosxing masterpiece and I beat one of the great fighters of our generation. I was blessed from God tonight. I'm still retiring after this fight, I've proven everything I have to prove after this fight. I haven othing else to prove nad have made a lot of money in this sport. I am moving on to bigger and better things. I did this for my kids. I owe it all to the blessings I had from God."
Now that was an exhibition of the Sweet Sciences!!! Great fight, PBF didnt run like I was afraid he would. The only reason Oscar lost was because he faded in the championship rounds. There were several rounds that could have gone either way. No complaints from me, PBF proved why he is the P4P king.
You must be the change you want to see in the world. --Mahatma Gandhi
Very close fight, if Oscar would have not faded in the last couple rounds he would have won.
Credit to Floyd he came on strong at the end.
We all know for an absolute certainty that they will fight again before Christmas so lets all ignore the bullshit about either retiring.
I'm sure Oscar will go on another boat trip to pray to his Heavenly Father before once again agreeing to the challenge.
Floyd will be lured out by the money and the talk of a controversial win.
It will be the least suprising announcement of 2007.
Yeah, that's about right. I had a feeling floyd would take it, although Oscar pushed him right to the wire. This wa a very enjoyable fight from my eyes, and I think it did very well to boost the profile of the sport.Originally Posted by NuthaPug
I'd love a reamtch though.
Oscar said: “I felt I won, and I felt I landed the hardedr punches and the crisper punches. As a champion I wanted to stop him and that’s why I wanted to close the show. It wasn;t the night of the jab, but for some reason it wasn’t one of those nights. Everybody was counting me out against the P4P champion of the world, and I hurt him with a few punches that I know that he felt. I have to go back to the drawing board and analyse the whole situation. This is the game that brought me here. I love boxing.”
Floyd sr just saved his job for the future...... Damage control is a mofo![]()
floyd deserves all the credit in the world. oscar is a warrior. personally, that floyd acts like a dickk makes it hard for me to be happy for him.
superheavyrhun, a cool click to you.
He seemed genuinly upset that Oscar didn't get the decision.Originally Posted by JT Rock

I think he just wants to be loved by one of them and as Floyd's rejected him again he's going back after Oscar's love.
Roach will still be training Oscar for the rematch though.
One thing that was clearly proven to me tonight, is that Mayweather IS succeptable to pressure and a fighter always coming forward. I wish he would stop with this retirement talk and make a fight with Hatton. I actually believe now, more than ever, that hatton can beat him. Oscar's face was harldly touched and if Hatton could avoid fatigue, which we will find out in the Castillo fight, I would fancy him.
Mayweather deserved the win.....just. In a 10 round fight he was beaten, but the last few rounds and DLH's age allowed him to move into the lead. He did, for large parts of the fight, look troubles and had no effective response to the pressure that delahoya put him under. Once DLH was forced to reduce the pressure, mayweather took his opportunities well.
IMO that fight reduced my opinion of mayweather even though he got the win.
Prime Oscar > Prime Mayweather IMO.
This reminds me ogf SMM II, fight./![]()
Man, you can;t find an agreement here for one way or the other.
The BBC reporter has it at 115-115, and Sky pundits are split on it, with ODLH by a point for some ,and Johnny Nelson with floyd winning. This is a fantastic talking point, and I don't care if no-one listens, I will be talking about this fight for weeks to come.
I'd put odds of evens on a rematch, even if Floyd is retiring.
ODLH took the defeat very well, considering how tight it was, and Floyd was as brash and arrogant as he ever was in victory.
REMATCH! REMATCH! REMATCH!
bang on post im the biggest PBF hater but cant knock him tonightOriginally Posted by TyBuff
ok gonna let the guests in
Oscar landed mostly blocked shots when he had him on the ropes.... Otherthan that he landed maybe a handful of clean shots.... Floyd stood his ground, took him a while to crack Oscars guard though. But when Oscar tired Floyd was able to dig the body and then the head...
Floyd impressed me, moving up in weight and standing toe to toe with Oscar at times..... Good Win. I thought they were gonna screw Floydsince it is Oscars town.
After Floyd tasting the power of Delahoya and Defending it perfectly/// I wouldnt think Cotto or Margarito would do much to Floyd
