First off, great fight it turned out better than i and most others thought it would. I was extremely worried when they announced that de la hoya won in one judges mind with a card to go because a draw or sd for de la hoya would've been disasterous. Now i guess it's own up time PBF was the better fighter and i was wrong to think de la hoya could outbox him.

We all know for an absolute certainty that they will fight again before Christmas so lets all ignore the bullshit about either retiring.

I'm sure Oscar will go on another boat trip to pray to his Heavenly Father before once again agreeing to the challenge.

Floyd will be lured out by the money and the talk of a controversial win.

It will be the least suprising announcement of 2007.
I agree completely. He looked old in some of the latter rounds but a good performance by both men. I had it 115-113 PBF but some of the rounds were hard to score because Oscar was taking Floyds punches on his gloves but the same can be said for Floyd. Great fight for boxing. Oscar should retire cause he did look old at times but he gave one last great performance. Credit to PBF he is incredibly gifted but I wont miss him.I do think a rematch would be disastrous for Oscar cause he would be completely an old man by then.

I had Oscar winning by a round. It seems hardly anyone can agree on this one.

Oscar's face was harldly touched and if Hatton could avoid fatigue, which we will find out in the Castillo fight, I would fancy him.

Mayweather deserved the win.....just. In a 10 round fight he was beaten, but the last few rounds and DLH's age allowed him to move into the lead. He did, for large parts of the fight, look troubles and had no effective response to the pressure that delahoya put him under. Once DLH was forced to reduce the pressure, mayweather took his opportunities well.

IMO that fight reduced my opinion of mayweather even though he got the win.

Prime Oscar > Prime Mayweather IMO.
yep suseptable to a much bigger guy, that landed predominetly blocked shotswhen he had Floyd on the ropes.... NO WAY does Hatton present close to the pressure dangers that a naturally bigger Delahoya tried to do......

Boxing basically slitting it's own wrist with that one judge calling it for De La Hoya They've proved they are done and MMA /UFC and Pride will take them over... Miquel Cotto better lean how to defend a takedown cause boxing will be irrelevant soon

Floyd impressed me, moving up in weight and standing toe to toe with Oscar at times..... Good Win. I thought they were gonna screw Floydsince it is Oscars town.

After Floyd tasting the power of Delahoya and Defending it perfectly/// I wouldnt think Cotto or Margarito would do much to Floyd
I don't see how you could see MAyweather as an emphatic winner. It was neck and neck all the way for my view, and looking back at the whole fight I think that a draw or SD either way cannot be argued with. Mayweather was the more accurate, but even if two-thirds of Oscar's punches got through then it was still a few more than Floyd. I was glad that Floyd went toe-to-toe though, cause a tactical battle would have been a great anticlimax. Anyhow, your boy won, so I got a Jaegerbomb that says there will be a rematch.

Y'all will get your CC's tomorrow when I wake up and head off to family to get a good lunch and do some laundry! Cheerio.

If you want to talk that trash go someplace else. If boxing was dead there wouldn't have been a record number of people on Saddoboxing.com today. If boxing is dead the dishwashers at the restauraunt wouldn't have been talking about it. If boxing was dead we wouldn't even be here. Sad click for you.

I'll join in the barage. Boxing is by no means irrelevant. It hasn't been since the late 1880's and it wont be until the human race is extinct. A lot of people enjoyed that fight. Sorry there was technique involved something that makes an "i wanna see a ko now" mma bum uninterested. It's a sport not a ko derby deal with it punk.

Oscar did well bringing pressure to Floyd - when he was throwing and backing Floyd up, he was winning. He did make the mistake of being within range without throwing in mid rounds, which allowed Floyd to point on him.

Had he never stepped into the strike zone without being ready to throw, but only when throwing, he would have kept Floyd's points down.

When Oscar was throwing, most of the time he was also controlling the fight. When both were throwing, most of the time Oscar was still controlling, thought not always.

Then, the last three rounds were disastrous for Oscar.

Great fight. PBF did a great job, though I was more impressed with the way that Oscar was able to control the fight. PBF's accuracy, and his freedom to target Oscar when Oscar wasn't throwing, kept the fight very even until the last three rounds. Then Oscar pooped out, and Floyd just took those rounds.

Floyd deserves the win, but the fact that Oscar did this well against the most talented boxer of our time says a lot for him. With some adjustment in terms of keeping the aggression whenever in strike zone, and winning one of the later rounds, it would have been Oscar's fight.

Not sour grapes or anything - I was supporting Oscar but not blinded by that - Floyd deserves the win and he did join the fight instead of running - but I was more impressed by Oscar's affective aggression than Floyd's more opportunistic scoring. That the fight went twelve rounds to a split decision - that says a lot for Oscar considering that conventional wisdom had Floyd with a clear UD if the fight went the full twelve.

    Great fight ... no disappointment!

As far as rematch - I dunno - Oscar's just going to get more old, not less. He'd have to do a bit of adjustment to win the fight solidly in the first 8-9 and be able to afford to give away the last 3. Otherwise Floyd, being already familiar with him now, won't need the first five rounds before he starts fighting his own fight. He'll just start winning earlier.

Of course, I'd be glad to watch the fight if it comes about ...

One more thing before I finally drag my arse into bed, which is that Saddo's improvements to the server has to be given a big CC, cause it held up really well on the whole, and flicking between pages is slow at the best of times, so I was glad to be able to post rounds within that 1 minute gap between each one.

Cheers folks, and y'all make sure to spit on Wacko's shoes when he gets back here. Flippin sell-out

Never made an emphatic comment.... Nothing in my post suggested anything of the sort, I just presented the facts of the contest.
