Did you follow the whole situation? First of all Rivera didn't want a rematch because Collazo wanted to give him one and Rivera rejected it because he wanted to move up to 154.

So all this Collazo ducked a rematch with Rivera, drop it now cause Rivera didn't want a rematch

I'm a huge Hatton fan, But I read the interview, It sounded like Hatton wanted the biggest money fights out there with the last five guys in his career. Kinda punkish I know, BUT WE ALLL WOULD LIKE TO SEE HATTON VS COTTO<MAYWEATHER, and ODLH.

Well Delahoya said the Hatton fight aint happening. And if Cotto loses then that fights out. And Hatton is moving back down to 140 so Mayweather is out(for now). He is ducking Collazo.

Nothin new mate, hatton gave his "word" (whatever thats worth these days) to kostya if he wanted a rematch hed give him one...then he comes out and says to the press he wouldnt give kostya a rematch coz theres no need. Now hes done the same to collazo.

Collazo outdid Hatton and clearly should have won. Hatton barely landed any punches. It was a boring fight, with Hatton holding all the time and not throwing punches. Hatton looked terrible. Collazo was ripped off. He clearly won the fight. Even with being knocked down in the first round.

I agree that Hatton looked bad and I scored it a draw. I think Hatton actually landed a few more--they were just less effective.

I'd like to see the rematch too, but don't hit out with the ducking crap. Hatton wants the big fights. Collazo is not a big fight. Mayweather, Margarito, Castillo, Gatti. Those are the big fights and Hatton doesn't plan to be around long to entertain your skepticism, just because, shock horror, he didn't blow away one of his opponents. What's that, maybe 1 fight out of 41 that he didn't win convincingly? Oh wow, I guess we should remove him from the P4P list and rag on him until he knocks Collazo out.
I know that your'e a bit sensitive on this matter...& it is like riding a dead horse through the pasture...it's old...& it stinks...& it's a bit uncomfy to discuss...but if you say that the man get's a rematch...give it to him...the next day...don't watch tape & say...errrrrrrrrrrrrrmmmmm...maybe I better bail & rethink this...it is the man's title that he was given.

Anywho...Hatton is still a great fighter & all that...but just like so many other fights over the last 2 years...I just think that it was the incorrect decision.

What's done is done...but a draw woulda been better...
Personally, I think it was stupid of Ricky to say immediately after the fight that he would give a rematch. Emotions are running wild and, quite frankly, I think the criticism stung Hatton initially and he genuinely wanted to shut the naysayers up. After having had time to reflect, I completely understand why he wouldn't want to waste his time with a fight that would only interest the die hards.
He did win the fight. Scored round for round, I can't see past Hatton, despite him not looking like a winner when he was hurt in the last round.
So it was okay to waste our time the first time He said what he said and he can't take it back. If pbf did this same exact thing you would probably have a lot to say about it.You talk about the big fights but who wants to see him in the big fights besides die-hard fans if he has so much trouble in the small fights. If I saw him for the first time i wouldn't pay $50 to see him again. A lot of people thought he lost and as a man he should wanna prove them wrong like floyd did but i guess he not as much man as floyd is. Hatton all heart. Yeah right.Go back to 140 and beat on smaller men.
It's a waste of time because he has already beaten Collazo. it wasn't a waste of time the first time because they hadn't fought each other. And yes, it was stupid of him to say he would give Collazo a rematch immediately after the fight.

And Hatton does not have trouble in the "smaller" fights. A world champion southpaw gave him trouble. Big deal. You talk like any P4P fighter should win every fight comfortably. There are no easy fights at the highest level and certain styles are always bound to give certain fighters trouble. Does Collazo deserve a rematch? Yes. Does it mean Hatton is ducking him if he doesn't give it to him? Not in the least. He has bigger fish to fry.

And you sound like a kid screaming, "Oh, but he said this after the fight. He can't take it back!!!"

It's like Delahoya said after the Mayorga fight, a fighter's emotions aren't in check after a fight. He said he'd take a week or two before sitting down and thinking about the future. Hatton's pride was simply stung by the criticism after the fight and he was too quick to accept any rematch.

I could be wrong, but I don't remember seing Hatton deny Tszyu a rematch. Could you post a link of some sort so I could see that.

Ducking = Scared. Hatton is not scared of Collazo. There are simply bigger fights out there for him. Not sure why that's so dificult for people to comprehend. And enough about the post fight press conference. Things get said when emotions are running high.

That's quite dumb to say he is ducking Collazo, why? Did he not win? Ducking is not stepping in the ring with someone through fear,I doubt he has that of Collazo,he just knows he only has a few fights left in his career and he wants the big ones, the ones that would make him $$$!

Let collazo beat someone of note, even a Zab Judah! :P

then he'll get his rematch, it was close but i wouldnt go as far to say 'contraversal' let alone a robbery.

If collazo can put himself back into the mix then i'm sure it will happen down the line.

Though Collazo has demosntrated hes a slick boxer, and many may wish to avoid him, i just hope the hatton exposure will give him an oppituinity to beat a top 10 welter and then he can have his rematch.

i have just seen the fight for the first time this morning on sky and I believe Collazo won by one round. How Hatton got in by three rounds is beyond me. It was a hard fight to judge though, Hatton had better work rat, but Collazo landed nearly all the best punches. As for the ref, he must have been blind not not to see Collazo put Ricky down in the last round, and this is from someone who likes Ricky Hatton, who did show terrific heart in the fight.
