Jones won the first fight, and could have won the third. And was winning the second until he got hit once. Tarver isn't Roy Jones by far. And even if he beats Hopkins, I still don't give him much credit. Why don't he fight Bell, or Mormeck? The money isn't there. Was the money there against Johnson? Tarver is good, but not great. I hope the smaller man beats him. I've never rooted for BHOP, but I am now.
Personally I liked the countdown but I really think they should give Hopkins a special like they gave Roy before the Ruiz fight. I really liked to see Hopkins out there, one thing I noticed is that Hopkins has very very skinny legs... that may be the story of the fight if Hopkins goes down on mass and force the legs will tell the story of the fight. But Tarver smelling food while training means his past is catching up to him![]()
Just wanted to tell yall that they are showing a fine piece of boxing history tonight on HBO....Hopkins vs Echols II. It is the funniest fukin fight I have ever seen, and one of the more foul filled ones as well. Watch it people. All I got to say is "Bernard is faking"![]()

Tarver by TKO. I just think that he is too big and strong for Hop. He is by no means the better fighter but he has most of the advantages in this fight. I want Hopkins to KO his goofy @ss buy logic tells me that B-Hop is gonna take a loss in this one
Psalm 144: Blessed be the LORD my Rock, who trains my hands for war, and my fingers for battle
It makes me nervous to see Hopkins so silent. He usually talks it up real good, and for him not to do that it sort of makes me think that he's not confident.Originally Posted by BoomBoom
I know he can win because I don't think he'll have a problem getting inside Tarver's long arms. Jones was always trying to get out of Tarver's punching range, Hopkins will try to get inside. I think that might be the difference.

One thing is for sure. Hopkins needs to be busier in the earlier rounds. He needs to work in his fight and fight Tarver like he did Taylor in the late roundsOriginally Posted by tuckwopat

There's so many negative ways of looking at this for Hopkins.
Sorry...die hard fan of the man or not...he just got so many things going against him instead of for him.
#1: Hopkins first fight was at 175 & he lost.
#2: Hopkins is now...old...I aint gonna say that he's past it...but he's old.
#3: He's fought his entire career & dominated everyone he's faced at 160 up to his last 2 fights.
#4: The one man that he couldn't beat...Tarver did...3 times...no matter what anyone says.
#5: I just don't believe that my bwoy can carry all of his skills & persona to 175lbs.
That being said...Hopkins is my man...& I hope that he can overcome...but...I just can't see it that way...let's hope...once again...I'm wrong.![]()

But seriously who of them talk the most shat. I'll say they are both equal.
As for me I would like for B-Hop to lose ala Byrd vs Klystko(however you spell it)
I still just don't believe that OLDH KO. that was like a very bad movie. Rocky make hits looked more real dammit :P![]()

Yeah girl, I just finished watching it and it is even funnier and dirtier than I remembered. I forgot all bout this little gem: Echols complains to the referee, then as Bernard is distracted, pops Bernard right in the kisser, B-hop bein the man he his hits Echols right back.Originally Posted by Starr

I am interested to see (or read) how Tarver handles losing all of the weight he had gained for the Rocky movie. I would think that it would have some type of affect on him, so I would think that he might be a little slower. I heard that he had worked witha trainer to put on more muscle for the movie to make him look bigger. So depending on how he lost the weight it may slow him down. He may also lose some of his power.
Then there is Hopkins putting on the weight and how that is going to affect his style of fighting. Will his stamina still be there? or will the extra weight take that away? A lot of questions on this one for me. Personally I am rooting for Hopkins to KO Tarver (Tarver just needs to shut up). But I dont think Hopkins power will carry up with him.
